Quicksink Mud

Quickstart

1. Gather 1 bucket and 1 mud.
2. Craft Quicksink Mud at a crafting table:

1. Hold the Quicksink Mud in your hand.
2. Use it while facing the area where you want to pour it. The item creates a 3×3 patch of mud one block below and slightly in front of you.
3. Step onto the patch—or lure a mob onto it—to watch entities sink through the mud.

The item is reusable and does not need to be placed as a normal block.

Overview

Quicksink Mud is a dangerous utility item that creates sinking mud traps. Entities standing on the resulting mud gradually descend through it until they reach the solid block beneath.

Use it to make pits, traps, obstacle courses, or hazardous areas for mobs and players.

How To Use

Hold Quicksink Mud and activate it using either the normal use control or the use-on-block control.

The patch is created according to your position and facing direction:

• It appears slightly in front of you.
• It is placed one block below your current level.
• It covers a 3×3 area.
• Your crosshair target does not determine the patch’s exact position.

Entities begin sinking when mud is directly beneath their feet. You can pour the patch under yourself, place it in a pit, or bait mobs onto it.

Craft Quicksink Mud at a crafting table with one bucket and one mud. The recipe produces one reusable Quicksink Mud item.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Quicksink Mud has a maximum stack size of one.
• Activating it creates ordinary mud blocks in a 3×3 patch.
• Entities on the mud descend gradually rather than teleporting immediately.
• Sinking continues until the entity reaches the block beneath the mud.
• The effect applies to entities in the area, so multiple mobs can be caught at once.
• The item can be used repeatedly to create additional patches.

Progression And Strategy

Quicksink Mud is available as soon as you have access to mud and a bucket. For safer testing, begin with a shallow enclosed pit and use a passive mob as a target.

For traps, place the mud where entities must walk across it, surround the area with walls, or combine it with deeper hazards below. Keep solid ground beneath the mud in mind: entities stop sinking when they reach that layer.
