Poisonous Potato Dimension

Quickstart

1. Craft a Spore Compass with a compass and a poisonous potato:
2. Use the compass and choose Enter Poisonous Potato Dimension. Use it again while there and choose Return home to go back to your world’s default spawn.
3. Explore the nearby terrain for unusual potato plants, new building blocks, and hostile creatures. Try potato tools and armor too; they’re crafted from ordinary potatoes.

In Creative mode, search your inventory for the Tuber Grub Spawn Egg or Potato Zombie Spawn Egg to summon either creature.

Overview

The dimension is a potato-themed world with varied terrain, including mesas, mountains, frozen regions, swamps, jungles, plains, and a poisonous potato ocean. The Spore Compass is the way in and out; there’s no portal-building step.

Blocks and plants

The dimension’s terrain and vegetation include Toxic Turf, Spudstone, Potato Bricks, Potato Seabed, Potato Brine Shore, Yellow Potato Mud, Skyfrost, and several region-specific stones and turfs. You can also find Rotwood Logs, Mold Leaves, Potato Tree Logs and Leaves, and Spore Blooms. Breaking a Spore Bloom drops a Spore Petal.

Potato plants come in many varieties: purple, red, mini, yellow, sweet, blue, russet, white, golden, pink, black, crystal, frost, poisonous, glowing, ancient, striped, spotted, giant, tiny, spicy, mint, sugar, cocoa, moon, sun, shadow, rainbow, blossom, and wild.

Creatures

• Tuber Grubs are small hostile creatures found around Toxic Turf. They attack nearby players and can alert others of their kind. They drop a Tainted Tuber.
• Potato Zombies are hostile undead that burn in daylight. They can appear around Potato Brick dungeons. They drop rotten flesh and may also drop an iron ingot, carrot, or potato.

How To Use

Use the Spore Compass and select the first button in its travel menu to enter the dimension or return home. The second button cancels.

Explore different landscapes to find their distinctive plants and materials. Watch for dungeon entrances and hostile mobs, especially when traveling through Toxic Turf areas.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Spore Compass recipe uses a compass and a poisonous potato:

Potato equipment is crafted at a crafting table using ordinary potatoes; the pickaxe and sword also use sticks.

Tuber Grubs drop Tainted Tubers. Potato Zombies drop rotten flesh and may drop an iron ingot, carrot, or potato.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Tainted Tuber: Eating one restores a small amount of hunger but inflicts Poison.
• Potato Brine: Prolonged immersion in the poisonous potato ocean builds exposure, causing Slowness and eventually Poison and Nausea. Get out of the water to let exposure decrease.
• Potato equipment: The Potato Sword is a melee weapon, and the Potato Pickaxe works as a pickaxe. The helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots can be equipped as armor.

Progression And Strategy

Craft the Spore Compass early so you can travel back and forth. Explore shorelines and inland regions to find new materials and potato varieties, but avoid lingering in the ocean brine. Bring equipment before searching Potato Brick dungeons, where Potato Zombies may be nearby.
