Description
The Phantom Bond Reaper is a legendary scythe-like sword built for PvP. It hits harder than a normal sword, applies wither on strike, and can shatter shields. Its true power comes from a soul-unlock system: every Player Head you consume with the weapon permanently unlocks a new dark ability, gradually turning the Reaper into a fully-loaded death-dealing weapon.
The Reaper is crafted at a crafting table from powerful, late-game materials:

It requires netherite blocks, an end crystal, wither skeleton skulls, a nether star, and a blaze rod — reflecting its status as an endgame weapon.
Repairing: Use netherite ingots (moderate durability restore) or nether stars (major durability restore) on an anvil to repair the Reaper.
The scythe always applies these base effects when swung:
Defeating players yields Player Heads. Consuming a Player Head with the Reaper equipped permanently unlocks the next locked ability in this order:
| Ability | Effect |
|---|---|
| Armor Bypass | Chance for hits to punch through armor and deal fixed bonus damage. |
| Berserk | Temporary combat buff triggered after certain hits. |
| Execution | Powerful finishing effect against weakened foes. |
| Reaper Status | Activates special behavior when a target's health drops to 5 hearts or below. |
| Soul Status | Grants a temporary buffed state after successful hits. |
| Phantom Phase | A timed mobility/combat phase ability with a long range and cooldown. |
Each consumed head unlocks exactly one ability, and the game announces which ability was unlocked and what's next in the chain. Once all six are unlocked, no more heads are needed.
When unlocked, Phantom Phase can be triggered for a short burst (about 15 seconds) that lets you strike targets within a wide range, followed by a cooldown (about 30 seconds) before it can be used again. Successfully hitting phased targets can grant a temporary "soul feed" reward window.
A linked-target mechanic: after priming by hitting players within a short window (about a minute), the Reaper forms an active "bond" with those players lasting several minutes. A successful bond grants sustained benefits and a short cooldown afterward; failing to complete a bond triggers a longer penalty cooldown before it can be attempted again.
Once a target's health falls to around 5 hearts, Reaper Status kicks in, changing how the Reaper interacts with that target for the rest of the fight.
