Phantom Blocks

Quickstart

1. In Creative mode, open the Fake Blocks tab and take a Fake Block, Fake Stairs, or Fake Slab.
2. Aim at a compatible existing block and place the fake block on its face, leaving the space on the other side empty. The fake block appears in that neighboring space and copies the block’s appearance.
3. Walk through it to test the illusion. Try a Fake Block beside stone, a Fake Stairs beside stairs, or a Fake Slab beside a single slab.

Overview

Phantom Blocks are decorative blocks that imitate compatible blocks but have no collision, so players can walk through them. They’re useful for disguises, false walls, and hidden-looking passages.

What It Adds

How To Use

Place a fake block while targeting the block whose appearance you want to copy. It goes on the targeted face, in the adjacent space—not in place of the source block.

• Fake Block: Use a full-collision block with sturdy faces, such as stone or dirt. Stairs and slabs aren’t valid sources.
• Fake Stairs: Target an existing stair block.
• Fake Slab: Target a slab that isn’t double.

The fake keeps the copied appearance if the source block is later removed, but it doesn’t copy the source’s function or contents.

Crafting And Obtaining

All three placeable forms are available in the Creative inventory’s Fake Blocks tab. No crafting recipe for these forms is listed.

Abilities And Mechanics

Fake blocks have no collision, so entities can pass through them. Their appearance copies the source block’s state, including stair or slab shape. Breaking a fake block does not return an item.
