Orebound Expansion

Quickstart

1. Find the ores in the Overworld.
   • Verdantite appears in upper stone layers.
   • Cinderite appears in mid-level underground areas.
   • Starsteel, Aetherium, and Voidite appear deep underground.
2. Bring the right pickaxe. All five ores are pickaxe-mineable and require the correct tool tier:
   • Cinderite and Verdantite: iron-tier or better
   • Starsteel and Voidite: diamond-tier or better
   • Aetherium: netherite-tier
3. Mine the ore blocks to collect 1–2 pieces of the matching raw material. Fortune can increase the amount dropped.
4. Refine raw material in a furnace or blast furnace to produce ingots.
5. Craft equipment from matching ingots and sticks. Each ore provides a sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe, and spear.
6. In Creative mode, open the Orebound Expansion item group to access every ore, material, and piece of equipment immediately.
7. Run /orebound guide for a short in-game overview of ore locations and refining.

Overview

Orebound Expansion adds five new Overworld ores and a complete set of matching tools and weapons. Mine the ores, refine their raw drops into ingots, and use the ingots to build equipment with increasing durability, mining speed, and combat strength.

The mod adds:

• Five ore blocks
• Five raw ore materials
• Five ingot types
• Five nugget types
• Five swords
• Five pickaxes
• Five axes
• Five shovels
• Five hoes
• Five spears
• A dedicated Orebound Expansion Creative tab
• An /orebound guide command

What It Adds

Ores and raw materials

All five ores generate in Overworld biomes. Ore blocks use stone sounds and require the correct mining tool for their drops.

Equipment

Every material can be crafted into:

• Sword
• Pickaxe
• Axe
• Shovel
• Hoe
• Spear

The tools work with standard Minecraft controls. Swords and spears are melee weapons; the spears are not separate throwable items.

How To Use

Mining

Use a pickaxe that meets the ore's required tier. Mining with a weaker pickaxe will not provide the ore's normal drop.

Each ore normally drops 1–2 raw material items. Fortune can improve ore yields, making it useful when gathering large amounts for a full equipment set.

Refining

Place raw ore in either a furnace or blast furnace:

• Furnace recipes provide the normal refining speed.
• Blast furnace recipes process the raw materials faster.
• Refining also awards experience.

Combat

Equip a matching sword or spear and attack normally. Spears have their own material-based attack strength and use the same standard melee controls as other weapons.

Repairing

Orebound equipment can be repaired in an anvil with its matching ingot:

• Cinderite equipment uses Cinderite Ingots.
• Starsteel equipment uses Starsteel Ingots.
• Aetherium equipment uses Aetherium Ingots.
• Verdantite equipment uses Verdantite Ingots.
• Voidite equipment uses Voidite Ingots.

Nuggets

One ingot can be unpacked into 9 matching nuggets. Conversely, 9 matching nuggets can be crafted back into one ingot. This lets you store or use materials in smaller amounts.

Abilities And Mechanics

Material performance

Each material has its own durability, mining speed, and enchantment value.

All matching tools, swords, and spears share their material's durability and general equipment tier.

Tool tiers

• Cinderite and Verdantite are iron-tier materials.
• Starsteel and Voidite are diamond-tier materials.
• Aetherium is a netherite-tier material.

The required tier applies to mining the ore blocks themselves, so finding a material does not automatically mean that a newly crafted tool can mine every other ore.

Progression And Strategy

1. Start with an iron pickaxe and search upper and middle underground areas for Verdantite and Cinderite.
2. Refine the raw materials and craft a Cinderite or Verdantite pickaxe for improved mining speed and durability.
3. Upgrade to a diamond pickaxe before searching for Starsteel or Voidite in deep underground areas.
4. Craft Starsteel or Voidite equipment for high durability and faster mining.
5. Bring a netherite pickaxe when searching for Aetherium.
6. Use Fortune on your mining pickaxe to increase raw ore yields.
7. Use a blast furnace when processing large amounts of raw material.
8. Repair valuable equipment with matching ingots in an anvil rather than replacing it.
