Orbital Arrow Cannon

Quickstart

1. Craft the Orbital Arrow Cannon at a crafting table (see recipe below).
2. Hold it in your hand and aim at a surface up to 64 blocks away.
3. Press and hold Use Item (right-click / the use button) to charge for about 1.5 seconds, then release.
4. Step back and watch 100 arrows rain down from above onto the targeted spot!
5. After firing, the cannon enters a 5-second cooldown before it can be used again.

Overview

The Orbital Arrow Cannon is an epic-rarity handheld weapon that calls a devastating orbital barrage of arrows down onto any surface you're looking at. It combines the feel of a spear charge-up with the destructive output of a vollying siege weapon, making it ideal for clearing large groups of mobs in open areas.

How To Use

1. Aim at any block or surface within 64 blocks.
2. Hold Use Item — a ~1.5-second charge animation plays (your movement slows to 30% during this time).
3. Release — the barrage fires. Arrows spawn 28 blocks above the target and fall straight down at 10 blocks per second, staggered slightly so they arrive in a rapid cascade rather than all at once.
4. An explosion particle effect and sound burst mark the impact zone.

On-screen messages:

• "Orbital Cannon is recharging!" — you fired recently; wait out the 5-second cooldown.
• "No charges remaining! Re-equip to refill." — you've exhausted your charges; take the cannon out of your hand and re-equip it.

Abilities And Mechanics

Arrows deal standard arrow damage plus area knockback. They benefit from piercing against mobs and can critically hit. The cannon has 16 charges of durability before it breaks, so each repair extends its life significantly.

Craft the Orbital Arrow Cannon at a crafting table using arrows, an Eye of Ender, a Crossbow, and a Blaze Rod:

Progression And Strategy

• Repair the cannon using Arrows (+4 durability each) or Spectral Arrows (+8 durability each) at an anvil to keep it going longer.
• Enchant it using bow-slot enchantments (Power, Punch, Flame, Infinity, etc.) at an enchanting table or anvil to dramatically boost every arrow in the barrage.
• Aim at the ground near mobs rather than directly at them — the 4-block scatter radius means a well-placed shot covers a wide cluster.
• Pre-aim before engaging — the 1.5-second charge leaves you slow and vulnerable, so lock onto your target before the fight begins.
• Mind the cooldown — at 5 seconds per shot, combining the cannon with a secondary weapon for close-quarters gaps is strongly recommended.
• The cannon has only 16 durability, so carry spare Arrows or Spectral Arrows for field repairs on long expeditions.
