Orbbound Blade

Quickstart

1. Gather a Netherite Sword, a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template, and an End Crystal.
2. Open a Smithing Table and combine them to forge the Orbbound Blade.
3. Equip it and head into combat — it hits harder and swings faster than a Netherite Sword right out of the box.

Overview

The Orbbound Blade is a top-tier melee weapon that pushes beyond the limits of netherite gear. It deals more base damage and attacks slightly faster than a Netherite Sword, making it the most powerful standard sword available. It is found in the Combat creative tab.

What It Adds

Abilities And Mechanics

• Base attack damage exceeds that of a Netherite Sword.
• Attack speed is slightly faster than a Netherite Sword, letting you land hits more frequently.
• Counts as a sword for all game mechanics:
  • Performs sweep attacks that hit nearby enemies.
  • Can be enchanted with any sword-compatible enchantment: Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods, Looting, Sweeping Edge, Fire Aspect, Knockback, Unbreaking, Mending, and more.
  • Breaks applicable blocks (like bamboo and cobwebs) efficiently.
• Stacks to 1, like all swords.

Progression And Strategy

The Orbbound Blade sits at the very top of the weapon progression ladder. Crafting it requires full netherite investment (a Netherite Sword and a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template) plus an End Crystal, meaning it is a late-End-game reward. Once obtained:

• Pair it with Sweeping Edge to maximize crowd control against groups.
• Add Looting III to boost drops from tough mobs.
• Sharpness V stacks with the blade's already high base damage for devastating hits.
• Because it is faster than a Netherite Sword, it also wins in sustained DPS trades — keep attacking rather than waiting on cooldowns.
