Noglin

Quickstart

1. Open your Creative inventory and search for Noglin to find its spawn egg (also found in the Spawn Eggs tab).
2. Use the spawn egg on any block to summon a Noglin.
3. Alternatively, explore the Overworld — Noglins spawn naturally in the wild.
4. Stand back and watch: the Noglin will ignore you and any other peaceful mob, but will actively hunt down nearby hostile mobs like zombies and skeletons.

Overview

The Noglin is a friendly flying variant of the hoglin — bright blue, airborne, and protective. Unlike its aggressive cousin, it never attacks players or passive animals. Instead, it acts as a guardian, seeking out and attacking hostile monsters on your behalf.

What It Adds

• Noglin — a flying creature that resembles a hoglin with a distinctive blue coloring.
• Noglin Spawn Egg — used to summon Noglins directly in Creative Mode.

How To Use

• Spawning: Use the Noglin spawn egg on a block or ground surface to place one in the world. Noglins also spawn naturally in Overworld biomes in small groups.
• Behavior: Once spawned, a Noglin flies around on its own, wandering the skies near you. It will not respond to players attacking it unless provoked, and it never targets players or peaceful mobs.
• Combat assistance: When a hostile mob (zombies, skeletons, creepers, spiders, etc.) comes near, the Noglin will fly toward it and attack with melee strikes, helping clear out danger.
• Defense: If struck by any mob, the Noglin will fight back against its attacker.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Flight: Noglins ignore gravity and move freely through the air using flying movement rather than walking, letting them chase down threats overhead or across gaps.
• Hostile Mob Targeting: Noglins actively seek out and attack hostile creatures within a wide range, making them useful allies while exploring or building.
• Peaceful Nature: Players, villagers, and other passive mobs are never targeted — only mobs that fall into the hostile-monster category are treated as targets.
• Sturdy Stats: Noglins have substantial health and decent attack strength, letting them survive fights with common hostile mobs and often win.
• Retaliation: If attacked, a Noglin will defend itself and fight back against whatever hit it.

Progression And Strategy

Because Noglins spawn naturally in the Overworld, you may encounter one while exploring — consider leading it back to your base as an aerial guardian. In Creative Mode, spawn several around a build to keep hostile mobs from lingering nearby. Their flight and wide detection range make them especially effective at intercepting threats before they reach you, making them a great low-maintenance companion for both survival-style play and creative showcases.
