Mod Wiki
Nile Jr
Quickstart
- Open your creative inventory and search for Nile Jr Spawn Egg.
- Use the spawn egg in the Nether (or anywhere blackstone, basalt, or netherrack is present) to summon Nile Jr.
- Watch it fight off nearby hostile mobs while you explore.
- Interact with it directly to see its idle and admiring behavior.
- Defeat hostile piglin-type creatures to trigger celebration animations, or let Nile Jr wander to find loot on its own.
Overview
Nile Jr is a distinctive blue piglin-type guardian mob. It looks and behaves like a piglin, but instead of being hostile toward you, it acts as a protector, turning aggressive toward other hostile mobs while remaining friendly to players. It's a companion-style creature that can be spawned and observed in normal survival or creative gameplay.
What It Adds
- Nile Jr – a flying blue piglin guardian entity with a light blue and sky-blue color scheme.
- Nile Jr Spawn Egg – used to summon Nile Jr directly from your inventory.
- Natural spawning in Nether biomes on netherrack, basalt, and blackstone, in areas tagged for piglin spawns.
How To Use
- Spawning: Use the Nile Jr Spawn Egg on any valid surface, or find one that has spawned naturally in Nether biomes associated with piglins.
- Interacting: Right-click (or the equivalent interact action) on Nile Jr to trigger an interaction, similar to interacting with vanilla piglins.
- Combat behavior: Nile Jr will attack hostile creatures on your behalf using either melee attacks or ranged arrow attacks, depending on its equipped loadout. It becomes angered when attacked and will retaliate.
- Group behavior: Nile Jr can form small groups with other members of its kind and will celebrate together after successfully hunting down threats.
- Nether transformation: Like regular piglins, Nile Jr will begin to shake and eventually transform if it spends too long outside the Nether, so keep it in Nether-like environments if you want to preserve its guardian form.
- Bartering: Nile Jr can be bartered with using gold, similar to vanilla piglins, and may offer items in exchange.
Crafting And Obtaining
Nile Jr cannot be crafted with a recipe. Obtain it by:
- Using its spawn egg from the creative inventory, or
- Encountering it naturally while exploring the Nether.
There are no crafting recipes associated with this mod.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Guardian behavior: Nile Jr targets and fights hostile mobs rather than the player, making it useful as a protective ally.
- Loot drops: Defeating Nile Jr can yield gold nuggets, porkchops, feathers, and — more rarely, when killed by a player — emeralds or a golden apple.
- Baby variant: Nile Jr can appear in a smaller "baby" form with faster movement and a panic response when threatened.
- Combat styles: Depending on its equipment, Nile Jr may fight using melee attacks (dealing solid melee damage) or ranged arrow attacks fired from a distance.
- Anger and cooldown system: Nile Jr becomes temporarily angry when attacked or when it attacks, broadcasting its alertness to nearby allies of its kind, then calms down after a cooldown period.
- Nether-bound existence: Staying out of the Nether too long causes Nile Jr to shake and eventually transform, so it's best kept in or near Nether terrain for long-term use.
Progression And Strategy
Bring Nile Jr along while exploring dangerous areas as a passive combat ally — it will engage hostile mobs so you don't have to face them alone. Because it thrives on Nether-like blocks and biomes, it's most effective and stable when kept in the Nether. Defeating hostile threats near Nile Jr can trigger group celebrations if multiple guardians are nearby, and successfully hunting with it grants experience rewards. Its loot table also makes it a viable secondary source of gold, food, and rare treasure drops if you choose to battle it directly.
