Nether Gaze Stalker

Quickstart

1. Open the Spawn Eggs tab in Creative mode and find the Nether Gaze Stalker spawn egg.
2. Use the egg in the Nether—or anywhere else—to spawn the stalker.
3. Stand at a distance and look directly at its glowing red eyes.
4. When it catches your gaze, it teleports to your position and begins a melee attack.
5. Break line of sight or look away to stop triggering its gaze response, then prepare for its next teleport.

You can also use commands:

• Give yourself the spawn egg:
  /give @s nether-gaze-stalker-nqa2gvnt:nether_gaze_stalker_nqa2gvnt_spawn_egg
• Summon the stalker directly:
  /summon nether-gaze-stalker-nqa2gvnt:nether_gaze_stalker_nqa2gvnt

Overview

The Nether Gaze Stalker is a towering Nether monster with a four-block-tall hitbox and glowing red eyes. It wanders until it notices a nearby player watching it. Meeting its gaze causes it to blink directly to that player before attacking.

The stalker can naturally appear in Nether biomes and can also be spawned with its Creative spawn egg.

The spawn egg has a dark purple base with a red pattern.

How To Use

Spawning

Use the spawn egg on a valid location to create a Nether Gaze Stalker. The egg is available in the Creative Spawn Eggs tab and can stack up to 64.

The stalker can also be summoned with the entity ID:

nether-gaze-stalker-nqa2gvnt:nether_gaze_stalker_nqa2gvnt

Triggering the Teleport

The stalker reacts when all of the following are true:

• You are within roughly 48 blocks.
• You have a clear line of sight to it.
• You are looking closely at its upper body.
• You are looking directly toward it rather than merely facing in its general direction.

Once triggered, it teleports to your current position and targets you for a melee attack. It triggers once per gaze encounter; look away or hide it from view before looking again to make it respond another time.

Crafting And Obtaining

There is no crafting recipe for the Nether Gaze Stalker or its spawn egg.

The stalker naturally spawns in Nether biomes. Natural groups can contain between 1 and 6 stalkers. You can also obtain the mob immediately in Creative mode with its spawn egg or summon it with a command.

Abilities And Mechanics

Gaze Teleportation

The stalker checks for the nearest player within 48 blocks. If that player can see it and is looking directly at it, the stalker teleports to the player's location.

A solid obstruction can prevent the gaze trigger, so walls, corners, and other cover are useful for avoiding a direct response.

Melee Attack

After teleporting, the stalker targets the player and attacks at close range. Its attack deals 4 points of damage, or 2 hearts, before armor and other damage reductions.

Stalker Statistics

The stalker moves deliberately rather than relying only on its teleport, and it may wander when no player has triggered it.

Progression And Strategy

• Do not stare casually. Looking directly at the stalker can bring it to you immediately.
• Use cover. Fight from behind walls or terrain so you can control when it has line of sight.
• Create distance after a teleport. It arrives at your position, so keep an escape route open before testing its gaze.
• Separate groups. Natural groups may contain several stalkers; avoid looking at multiple mobs in an open area.
• Use ranged attacks carefully. Stay behind cover between shots to prevent another gaze trigger.
• Build a controlled arena. A roofed or enclosed space with corners lets you observe the stalker without giving it a direct view of you.
