Mutant Zombie
Quickstart
- Find it naturally: Explore eligible monster biomes after dark. The Mutant Zombie is a rare hostile spawn that appears in low light; it does not spawn in The End.
- Spawn it directly: In Creative mode, search for Mutant Zombie Spawn Egg and use it on the ground.
- Summon it with a command:
/summon com_mutant_zombie_adpmp3x3:myravager
- Prepare for a boss-like fight: Bring strong armor, food, and ranged weapons. Keep several blocks of distance and avoid standing directly beside it.
- Watch its health: When it falls to half health, it can become enraged and temporarily gain Strength, Speed, and Regeneration.
Overview
The Mutant Zombie is a towering undead monster with high health, heavy melee attacks, and powerful area abilities. It seeks out players and other nearby targets, can destroy many plants and crops while moving, and burns in daylight.
It can naturally spawn alone in dark conditions. A spawned Mutant Zombie may also be encountered in other hostile-mob situations, including raids.
What It Adds
- A rare, oversized zombie-like hostile mob
- A Creative-only spawn egg
- Natural spawning after dark in eligible monster biomes
- A damaging ground slam with knockback
- A low-health enrage ability
- Stun and roar behavior when its attack is blocked
- Rotten flesh, iron, and occasional farm-food drops
How To Use
Spawn Egg
Use the Mutant Zombie Spawn Egg from the Creative inventory on a suitable block to create the mob immediately. This is the easiest way to test its attacks or build a custom arena.
Command Summoning
For a controlled encounter, use:
/summon com_mutant_zombie_adpmp3x3:myravager
Natural Spawning
The Mutant Zombie:
- Spawns rarely after dark
- Requires low light, with brightness from 0 through 7
- Appears in biomes marked for monster spawning
- Spawns alone rather than in groups
- Does not naturally spawn in The End
Abilities And Mechanics
Combat Statistics
| Property | Value |
|---|
| Health | 120 points |
| Normal melee damage | 12 points |
| Size | Approximately twice normal scale |
| Target range | Up to 16 blocks when it can see a target |
| Ground-slam range | Approximately 5.5 blocks |
The Mutant Zombie can target players, iron golems, wandering traders, and adult villagers. It also reacts to creatures that attack it.
Ground Slam
When a player is within roughly 5.5 blocks, the Mutant Zombie can perform a ground slam.
- Deals 8 damage to every nearby player
- Launches affected players backward
- Plays a deep roar
- Can be used again after roughly 8 seconds
Do not remain close to its feet during melee combat. The slam can hit every nearby player at once.
Enrage
At half health or less, the Mutant Zombie can periodically enter an enraged state. During the effect it receives:
- Strength II for about 6 seconds
- Speed I for about 6 seconds
- Regeneration II for about 4 seconds
Visible effect particles and a distinct sound indicate the ability. Continue watching its health and avoid trading blows while the regeneration effect is active.
Blocking, Stuns, And Roars
Blocking one of its attacks may stun the Mutant Zombie. A stunned Mutant Zombie pauses briefly before releasing a roar.
The roar can affect nearby non-illager targets within about 4 blocks, dealing 6 damage and applying strong horizontal and vertical knockback. A shield can help create an opening, but do not stay close after blocking.
Environment Damage
The Mutant Zombie can break many plant-based blocks while moving, including:
- Leaves, saplings, vines, flowers, mushrooms, and grass
- Crops such as wheat, carrots, potatoes, and beetroot
- Melons, pumpkins, and stems
- Bamboo, sugar cane, and berry bushes
- Some decorative plants and foliage
- Turtle eggs
Protect farms and gardens by keeping the mob away from them.
Daylight And Lava
As an undead creature, the Mutant Zombie burns in daylight. It also takes damage while in lava.
Crafting And Obtaining
There is no crafting recipe for the Mutant Zombie or its spawn egg.
You can obtain the mob by:
- Encountering its rare natural spawn at night.
- Using Mutant Zombie Spawn Egg in Creative mode.
- Running
/summon com_mutant_zombie_adpmp3x3:myravager.
Drops
Drops require the Mutant Zombie to be killed by a player.
- Rotten flesh: 2–5
- Iron ingot: A 15% base chance to drop 1–2
- Carrot or potato: An 8% base chance to drop one of these items
- Experience: 20 points when the player delivers the final hit
Looting can improve the relevant drop amounts and chances.
Progression And Strategy
- Fight in an open area. This gives you room to escape the ground slam and roar.
- Use ranged attacks first. Reducing its health from a distance helps avoid its strongest close-range abilities.
- Keep moving. Do not circle within 5.5 blocks for long, since the ground slam can damage and throw back every nearby player.
- Be ready at half health. The enrage can restore health while making the Mutant Zombie faster and more dangerous.
- Use shields carefully. Blocking may stun it, but move away immediately when it begins to roar.
- Clear nearby crops and foliage before an arena fight. The Mutant Zombie can break many plant blocks.
- Use daylight when possible. Its undead nature makes daytime encounters safer than nighttime encounters, although it remains hostile until defeated.
