Mossbound Frog Shrine

Quickstart

1. Gather moss blocks, calcite, yellow dye, vines, and glow lichen.
2. Craft the shrine materials:
   • makes Dark Green Shrine Blocks.
   • makes Whitish Yellowish Shrine Blocks.
3. Craft one Soggy Deity Statue and one Soggy Sanctuary Pedestal.
4. Place both structure items on clear ground. Each item builds its complete model and faces according to your horizontal facing.
5. Use a slime ball on the pedestal’s base block. The pedestal awakens and summons a persistent Giant Frog guardian.
6. Leave enough open space above the pedestal for the frog to appear.

In Creative mode, the statue, pedestal, blocks, Frog Heart, and Giant Frog Spawn Egg are available in the appropriate Creative inventory tabs. You can also use the spawn egg on the ground or another suitable block to summon a Giant Frog directly.

Overview

Mossbound Frog Shrine adds a small shrine-building activity centered on the Giant Frog. Create two decorative shrine structures, combine them in the world, and awaken the guardian with a slime ball.

The shrine structures are prebuilt when placed, so you do not need to assemble their individual parts by hand.

What It Adds

How To Use

Place the shrine structures

Hold a Soggy Deity Statue or Soggy Sanctuary Pedestal and use it on the side of a block. The structure is placed in the adjacent space.

• The statue occupies a 4×3×4 area.
• The pedestal occupies a 5×1×5 area.
• The structure rotates to match the direction you are facing.
• Every position must be empty before placement succeeds.
• In Survival mode, placing a structure consumes the item.
• In Creative mode, the item is not consumed.

Place the statue and pedestal with enough room for both structures and for the Giant Frog to spawn.

Awaken the guardian

After placing the Soggy Sanctuary Pedestal, use a slime ball directly on the pedestal’s base block.

• One slime ball summons one Giant Frog.
• The slime ball is consumed in Survival mode.
• Creative players do not consume the slime ball.
• The awakening displays the message “The Mossbound Guardian awakens!” and plays a chime.
• The summoned guardian is persistent and will remain in the world normally.

Use a slime ball on the correct base block rather than on the statue or another part of the shrine.

Use the spawn egg

The Giant Frog Spawn Egg provides a faster way to experiment with the creature. Hold it and use it on the ground or a block where there is room for the frog.

Giant Frogs can also occur as natural creature spawns in the Overworld.

Crafting And Obtaining

Dark Green Shrine Block

Craft nine moss blocks into one Dark Green Shrine Block.

Whitish Yellowish Shrine Block

Surround one yellow dye with calcite to make a Whitish Yellowish Shrine Block.

Soggy Deity Statue

The statue uses:

• One Whitish Yellowish Shrine Block
• One Dark Green Shrine Block
• Two vines
• One moss block

Soggy Sanctuary Pedestal

The pedestal uses:

• Four Dark Green Shrine Blocks
• Four glow lichen
• One moss block

Giant Frog and Frog Heart

The Giant Frog Spawn Egg is available in Creative mode and can summon the creature directly. Giant Frogs may also spawn naturally in the Overworld.

A defeated Giant Frog has a 25% chance to drop a Frog Heart.

Abilities And Mechanics

• The Giant Frog is larger than a normal frog.
• It has 28 health.
• Its movement speed is 0.16.
• Its attack damage attribute is 4.
• An awakened shrine guardian is persistent.
• The shrine can be awakened again with additional slime balls, producing additional Giant Frogs.
• Dark Green Shrine Blocks and Whitish Yellowish Shrine Blocks require an appropriate tool to mine.
• Both shrine blocks drop themselves when successfully mined.

Progression And Strategy

1. Start with moss blocks and craft Dark Green Shrine Blocks.
2. Find calcite and yellow dye to make the Whitish Yellowish Shrine Block.
3. Collect vines and glow lichen for the two structure recipes.
4. Craft and place the statue and pedestal in a clear location.
5. Keep slime balls ready if you want to summon more than one guardian.
6. Build the shrine near water, vegetation, or other mossy scenery to create a fitting frog sanctuary.
7. If a structure refuses to place, clear every block from its intended footprint and try again.
