Mine underground

Mod Wiki

More Ores

Quickstart

  1. Explore underground in the Overworld and mine Ruby Ore with an iron pickaxe or better. It drops Ruby Gems.
  2. At a crafting table, turn gems and sticks into Ruby tools. Try the [Ruby Pickaxe]() first.
  3. Craft the [Ruby Spear](), then use it while facing a nearby enemy to thrust and knock it back.
  4. Make and equip all four Ruby armor pieces for Speed II and Haste II.

Overview

More Ores adds six underground ore families, their materials, and matching tools and armor. Ruby and Sapphire occur in the Overworld; Infernium and Magmite in the Nether; and Astralite and Celestium in the End.

What It Adds

OreWhere to lookWhat it drops
Ruby OreOverworld, underground; between Y -48 and 16Ruby Gem
Sapphire OreOverworld, undergroundSapphire
Infernium OreNether, underground; between Y 8 and 112Raw Infernium
Magmite OreNether, undergroundMagmite
Astralite OreEnd, underground; between Y 12 and 100Astralite Crystal
Celestium OreEnd, underground; between Y 12 and 100Celestium Crystal

Mining requirements vary by ore. An iron pickaxe or better can mine Ruby and Sapphire Ore; a diamond pickaxe is a useful choice when searching for the other ores. Infernium Ore drops Raw Infernium, which must be smelted into an Infernium Ingot before crafting with it.

Each material has a matching sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe, helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots. Ruby also has a spear.

How To Use

Use the matching tools as you would other Minecraft tools, and equip armor in the usual armor slots. Matching materials are used for their recipes; tools and weapons also use sticks.

The Ruby Spear can be used for a forward thrust against a nearby target within about 3 blocks. The thrust deals damage and knocks the target back. Hitting a target with the spear also causes knockback. The thrust has a 1.25-second cooldown.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft equipment at a crafting table. Recipe images below can be hovered over or tapped to view each full recipe. Infernium Ingot is made by smelting Raw Infernium in a furnace or blast furnace.

Collect enough of a material to make a full armor set if you want its set bonus, and keep spare gems or crystals for repairing matching gear.
