Description

The Military Fallout Biome transforms chunks of the Overworld into an ash-gray radioactive wasteland of leafless dead trees, scorched ground, and pools of toxic green source-water that can’t be replaced by normal water; dead trees drop Dead Logs that craft into Dead Planks so you can still build, and radioactive water can be safely collected only with special buckets but harms living players with slowness, poison, a short glowing irradiation effect, and ticking radiation damage. Hostile fallout mobs roam the wastes — the fast Chaser, the heavy-hitting Ripper, a now significantly larger Titan Ripper boss, and a new ferocious Titan Chaser (very fast, moderate damage) that every 30 seconds emits a battle surge: it grants Speed II and Strength II to all nearby mobs (including itself but not players) for 10 seconds and detonates a harmless, block-safe explosion that launches the Titan Chaser upward. A massive Snatcher mini-boss also stalks the biome with long-reach snatch-and-throw attacks, all custom fallout mobs are immune to poison, and the mod includes spawn eggs, loot, textures, items, and a Military Fallout creative tab so you can loot, build with Dead Planks, and spawn-test creatures.

Military Fallout Biome

Quickstart

  1. Load a world — the Military Fallout biome generates naturally in the Overworld as an ash-gray wasteland. Explore until you find scorched grey ground, leafless dead trees, and pools of glowing toxic green water.
  2. Open the Military Fallout Biome creative tab to grab every item and spawn egg in one place.
  3. Chop a Dead Tree Log with an axe and craft it into Dead Planks to start building.
  4. Use an empty bucket on a radioactive water pool to collect a Radioactive Water Bucket safely.
  5. Use spawn eggs from the creative tab to test any of the five hostile fallout mobs.

Overview

Military Fallout Biome carves radioactive wasteland zones into the Overworld. The ground turns to ashen Dead Ground, normal trees are replaced by skeletal Dead Trees, and pools of toxic Radioactive Water bubble up across the terrain. Five custom hostile mobs — ranging from fast chasers to massive bosses — patrol the wastes. Every element of the biome is dangerous by design: the water hurts you, and the mobs are stronger and more aggressive than standard enemies.

Radioactive WaterToxic green fluid pools. Cannot be displaced by normal water. Harms living entities on contact.
Radioactive Water BucketThe only safe way to collect radioactive water.

All fallout mobs are immune to poison.

How To Use

Surviving the Biome

Avoid standing in Radioactive Water. Any living entity in contact receives:

  • Slowness III (6 seconds)
  • Poison (6 seconds)
  • Glowing (3 seconds)
  • 3 magic damage every second while submerged

If you need to collect it, right-click a radioactive water source block with an empty bucket to get a Radioactive Water Bucket. The bucket can be placed again elsewhere.

Harvesting Resources

  • Mine Dead Tree Logs with an axe — they drop themselves.
  • Mine Dead Ground with a shovel — it drops itself.
  • Craft Dead Logs into Dead Planks (see recipe below).
  • Dead Planks work as standard planks in any vanilla crafting recipe that calls for planks (e.g., sticks, crafting tables, slabs, stairs).

Spawning Mobs for Testing

All five mob spawn eggs are available in the Military Fallout Biome creative tab. Place them like any spawn egg to summon a mob instantly.

One Dead Tree Log yields 4 Dead Planks (shapeless craft).

Abilities And Mechanics

Radioactive Water

Radioactive water source blocks cannot be replaced by normal water. They generate naturally as pools in the biome and persist until manually removed or collected with a bucket.

The Titan Ripper — Boulder Attack

At range (roughly 6–30 blocks), the Titan Ripper lobs Titan Boulders in an arc toward the player. Each boulder deals 18 damage on direct hit and applies Poison II for about 11 seconds. The Titan Ripper reloads every 5–9 seconds.

The Snatcher — Snatch & Throw

The Snatcher uses two ranged grab attacks against targets within roughly 4–28 blocks with line of sight:

  • Simple Snatch (every ~8 seconds): Teleports the target directly in front of the Snatcher and briefly immobilizes them with Slowness III.
  • Throw Snatch (every ~30 seconds): Teleports the target, deals 30 damage, then launches them violently away. Portal and explosion particles mark the event.

The Titan Chaser — Battle Surge

Every 30 seconds, the Titan Chaser triggers a Battle Surge in a 16-block radius:

  • Grants Speed II and Strength II for 10 seconds to all nearby mobs (including itself, but not players).
  • Launches itself upward with a visual explosion effect and explosion sound.

This can rapidly turn a group of ordinary fallout mobs into a deadly coordinated threat.

Progression And Strategy

  • Early biome visit: Bring milk buckets to counter poison from mob hits and water exposure. Iron armor or better is strongly recommended before engaging Rippers.
  • The Snatcher is the greatest positional threat — its grab teleports you into melee range regardless of distance. Fight it in open areas where you can quickly re-create distance after being thrown.
  • The Titan Ripper is best fought at close range to avoid its boulder barrage, but its melee hits hard (24 damage). High knockback resistance means it won't flinch. Bring strong armor and healing.
  • Battle Surge awareness: When you hear an explosion and see a Titan Chaser launch upward, retreat immediately — all nearby mobs just received a major combat boost for the next 10 seconds.
  • Dead Planks are a renewable wood source entirely within the fallout biome; stockpile Dead Logs for later crafting since they serve as full plank substitutes in any vanilla recipe.
