Midnight Shadow Ravager

Quickstart

1. Find it at midnight — the Midnight Shadow Enderman only spawns naturally in the world during the brief midnight window (roughly game-time 17500–18500 out of 24000). Head out at midnight in a biome where Endermen can normally spawn and keep an eye out for an unusually tall, pitch-black figure.
2. Spawn it anytime in Creative — open the Spawn Eggs tab in the Creative inventory and use the Midnight Shadow Enderman Spawn Egg (a ghostly black-and-white egg) to summon one instantly, day or night.
3. Be ready for a fight — the moment it spots you, it will lunge. Have strong armor and plenty of health before engaging.

Overview

The Midnight Shadow Enderman is a rare, terrifying variant of the classic Enderman. Standing noticeably taller and wider than a normal Enderman, it wears a high-contrast black-and-white shadow horror aesthetic — a deep black body with an eerie pale mask-like face. Unlike its cousin, this creature doesn't just stalk you; it launches itself at you in powerful lunging attacks.

How To Use

Finding One in Survival

The Midnight Shadow Enderman only spawns naturally at midnight — a narrow slice of the in-game day/night cycle. You won't encounter one at any other time of day. Plan your expeditions accordingly: get to a suitable open area before midnight, then watch for its towering silhouette.

Using the Spawn Egg

In Creative mode, the Midnight Shadow Enderman Spawn Egg is available in the Spawn Eggs creative tab. Right-click any surface to spawn the mob immediately, regardless of the time of day.

Abilities And Mechanics

Lunge Attack

The Midnight Shadow Enderman's defining behavior is its lunge. When it locks on to a player within a moderate distance and has a clear line of sight, it propels itself forward with a burst of speed, closing the gap rapidly before striking. After each lunge there is a short cooldown before it can lunge again, but don't count on that window being very long.

As a direct relative of the Enderman, the Midnight Shadow Enderman retains standard Enderman behaviors, including sensitivity to water and the ability to teleport.

Progression And Strategy

• Gear up before midnight. With 8 hearts of damage per swing and very high knockback resistance, underprepared players will be killed quickly. Full iron armor at minimum is recommended; diamond or netherite is ideal.
• Use ranged weapons carefully. Its high knockback resistance means knockback enchantments provide little safety buffer. A bow can chip away health from a distance, but it will still close the gap with its lunge.
• Water is your friend. Like all Endermen, the Midnight Shadow Enderman is hurt by water and rain. Luring it into water or fighting during rain can give you a meaningful advantage.
• Don't look at it. Making direct eye contact with it will trigger its aggression just like a normal Enderman — but unlike a normal Enderman, this one will immediately lunge rather than simply approaching.
• Use the spawn egg for practice. Before facing one in survival, spawn a few in Creative to learn the lunge timing and how to position yourself to avoid being hit.
