Midnight Dragon Riders

Quickstart

• Get the Dragon Rider’s Guide with its recipe below, then use it to open a menu of topics: Taming a Wyrm, Feeding & Care, Mounting & Flight, and Meet the Wyrms.
• Find a wild wyrm in a low-light area, or use its spawn egg in Creative. You can also summon one with a command, for example: /summon com_midnight_dragon_riders_dion7m7j:obsidian_wyrm.
• Hold fish or a golden apple and interact with the wild wyrm repeatedly to tame it. Once tamed, equip it with a saddle and interact again to ride.
• Try steering from the saddle with your usual movement controls. The saddle enables flight.

Overview

Midnight Dragon Riders features three compact, dark-themed wyrms that can be tamed and ridden. Each can follow its owner, be healed with fish or golden apples, and take one rider when saddled.

What It Adds

All three spawn in low light (brightness 0–7). In Creative, look for Obsidian Wyrm Spawn Egg, Amethyst Wyrm Spawn Egg, and Voidfire Wyrm Spawn Egg.

How To Use

1. Tame: Hold an accepted food and interact with a wild wyrm. Keep feeding it until it becomes yours. A saddle won’t tame a wild wyrm.
2. Saddle: After taming, interact while holding a saddle to equip it. This enables flight and riding.
3. Ride: Interact with the saddled wyrm to mount. It has one seat; use your usual movement controls to steer.
4. Care for it: Fish and golden apples can heal an injured wyrm.
5. Have it lie down: As its owner, interact while holding a bone. Use a stick and interact again to make it stand.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Each wyrm has 60 health, is immune to fire, and takes no fall damage.
• Raw cod, salmon, cooked cod, cooked salmon, and golden apples all help tame wild wyrms. Cooked fish and golden apples raise temper more per feed than raw fish.
• Those same foods heal wyrms: cod restores 3 health, salmon 4, cooked cod 5, cooked salmon 6, and a golden apple 12.
• A tamed wyrm follows its owner. Saddling it enables flight and a single rider.

Progression And Strategy

Start with raw fish if you have plenty, or bring cooked fish or golden apples to build trust faster. Tame the wyrm before using a saddle, and bring healing food if it gets hurt. Look for an Amethyst Wyrm on mountain stone, or search grassy forest, taiga, and swamp areas for the other varieties.
