Matrix Loot Ascension

Quickstart

1. Grab a weapon and start killing mobs — every kill you land grants Matrix Ascension XP.
2. Check your progress anytime with the /matrixlevel command.
3. Collect Matrix Data Shards that drop from kills, and craft the Matrix Loot Scanner to check your loot odds.
4. Once you're leveled up and holding some Data Shards and a Matrix Core, craft the Neon Blade — a weapon that grows stronger as your Ascension level rises.

Overview

Matrix Loot Ascension turns everyday mob hunting into a progression system. Killing mobs earns you experience toward your personal Matrix Ascension level, which improves your odds of finding rare crafting materials and boosts the power of the mod's signature neon-themed weapon. There's no new dimension or structure to explore — just combat, leveling, and gear that scales with your dedication to the hunt.

What It Adds

How To Use

• Fighting mobs: Any kill you personally deal the finishing blow on (as a player) grants Matrix Ascension XP. Tougher mobs with more health grant more XP.
• Checking your progress: Run /matrixlevel in chat to see your current level and XP toward the next level. You'll also get an on-screen action bar update after every kill showing your XP and level.
• Leveling up: When you gain enough XP, you automatically level up, with a chat message confirming the increase and noting that loot odds and Neon Blade power have improved.
• Using the Loot Scanner: Right-click with the Matrix Loot Scanner in hand to check your Ascension status directly.
• Drop odds: Data Shards drop from kills with a chance that increases as your level rises (capped around 55%). Matrix Cores only begin dropping once you reach level 5, with a small chance per kill.

Crafting And Obtaining

Matrix Data Shards and Matrix Cores cannot be crafted directly — they must be earned as drops from defeating mobs.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Matrix Ascension Level: A persistent per-player level that increases as you gain kill XP. Each level requires progressively more XP to reach the next.
• Neon Blade scaling: The Neon Blade deals increasing bonus damage the higher your Ascension level climbs, making it more effective the longer you keep hunting.
• Loot Scanner readouts: Provides a quick way to check your current level and loot odds without needing to remember command syntax.

Progression And Strategy

Focus early game on fighting a variety of mobs to build XP quickly — high-health mobs give bigger XP rewards per kill. As your level climbs, Data Shard drops become more frequent, letting you keep crafting and maintaining Neon Blades. Once you hit level 5, start hunting more aggressively for a chance at Matrix Cores, the key ingredient that lets you forge (or re-forge) your Neon Blade. Since blade damage scales with your current Ascension level, continuing to grind kills after crafting the weapon keeps paying off — the neon edge only gets sharper the longer you fight.
