Build walls, ceilings, roofs, and floors in a flash with a wand that turns your blocks into ready-made patterns.
Mod Wiki
Master Builder Wand
Quickstart
- Craft the wand using the recipe below and hold it.
- Hold a block item in your other hand, then sneak-use the wand on any block to select that block type.
- Aim at a block face and use the wand on it to build the selected pattern next to that face.
- Use the wand in the air to cycle the build size. Sneak-use it in the air to cycle modes: Wall, Ceiling, Roof, and Floor.
The wand starts in Wall mode at size 2. In Survival, each block successfully placed uses one matching block item from your inventory; in Creative, building uses no blocks.
Overview
The Master Builder Wand places a pattern of your chosen block, making it useful for quickly laying out large construction sections. It places the selected block’s default state and only fills spaces where the block can be placed.
What It Adds
The mod adds one item: the Master Builder Wand. It is also available in the Tools tab of the Creative inventory.
How To Use
- Select a block: Hold its block item in the hand opposite the wand and sneak-use the wand on a block. The block item is not consumed by selecting it.
- Build: Use the wand on the face where you want the pattern to begin. The pattern starts in the space adjacent to that face.
- Change size: Use the wand in the air to cycle through sizes 1–5, then back to 1. Size controls the pattern’s width; sizes produce widths of 3, 5, 7, 9, or 11 blocks.
- Change mode: Sneak-use the wand in the air to cycle through Wall, Ceiling, Roof, and Floor.
- No block selected? Sneak-use the wand on a block while holding a block item in your other hand.
Non-replaceable spaces and spaces where the selected block cannot be placed are skipped. In Survival, building stops when you run out of matching blocks.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft one wand with redstone and sticks:

Abilities And Mechanics
| Mode | Pattern |
|---|---|
| Wall | A vertical rectangle facing across your direction of travel. Its width is 3–11 blocks; its height is 3–7 blocks, depending on size. |
| Ceiling | A horizontal square, 3–11 blocks on each side, at the adjacent-face level. |
| Roof | A gable roof with a raised center ridge. Its span and length depend on size, and its alignment follows your facing direction. |
| Floor | A horizontal square, 3–11 blocks on each side, one block below the adjacent-face level. |
Progression And Strategy
Start with a small size to check the pattern’s placement, then increase it for larger sections. Bring enough of your selected block for the area you plan to build, and check for obstructions: the wand skips spaces it cannot fill rather than replacing existing blocks.
