Masked Gem Seeker

Quickstart

1. Open the Creative inventory and find the Masked Gem Seeker spawn egg in the Spawn Eggs tab.
2. Use the egg on the ground to spawn a seeker.
3. Stand within 24 blocks and let it approach. Each seeker has a one-time chance to decide whether it will make a demand.
4. When it gets within 3 blocks, it sends a chat message asking for either diamonds or emeralds and plays its demand sound.

You can also spawn one with:

• /give @s masked-gem-seeker-ey2ympvs:masked_gem_seeker_ey2ympvs_spawn_egg
• /summon masked-gem-seeker-ey2ympvs:masked_gem_seeker_ey2ympvs

Overview

The Masked Gem Seeker is a masked, vindicator-shaped creature that roams the Overworld and approaches nearby players to solicit valuable gems.

Its main interaction is a surprise demand rather than a conventional trade. It does not open a trading interface, and the mod does not provide an exchange or reward for giving it diamonds or emeralds.

How To Use

Spawning a Seeker

Use the spawn egg on any suitable location in the world. The egg stacks to 64 and is available from the Creative inventory.

For command-based spawning, use the entity ID:

masked-gem-seeker-ey2ympvs:masked_gem_seeker_ey2ympvs

Getting Its Attention

A seeker checks for the nearest living player within 24 blocks. If it decides to make a demand, it walks toward that player while looking at them.

It stops when it is close enough—within 3 blocks—to make its request. The message names one of two gem types:

The Masked Gem Seeker asks: Could you spare some diamonds?

or:

The Masked Gem Seeker asks: Could you spare some emeralds?

The requested gem is chosen randomly.

Interrupting an Approach

During an active approach, moving more than 32 blocks away causes the seeker to stop pursuing that request. It may resume trying to approach if it has not yet made its demand and you come within range again.

Crafting And Obtaining

There is no crafting recipe for the Masked Gem Seeker or its spawn egg.

You can obtain a seeker by:

• Using the spawn egg from the Creative inventory
• Using the /give command to obtain the spawn egg
• Using the /summon command to create the entity
• Encountering one through natural Overworld spawning

Abilities And Mechanics

• One request per seeker: Once a seeker successfully asks for gems, it will not repeatedly spam the same request.
• Random decision: When a seeker first finds a nearby player, it makes a one-time random decision about whether it will ask. Some seekers may wander without ever making a demand.
• Nearest-player behavior: A seeker chooses the closest living player within 24 blocks.
• Approach range: A seeker follows its chosen player until the player is close enough or moves beyond 32 blocks.
• Wandering: Seekers wander around when they are not approaching a player.
• Player awareness: They can look at nearby players from up to 8 blocks away.
• Health: Each seeker has 24 health, equal to 12 full hearts.
• No confirmed payment interaction: The demand is delivered as chat text and a sound. Giving it diamonds or emeralds does not open a trade or provide a documented reward.

Progression And Strategy

The Masked Gem Seeker has no item-based progression or required quest. Treat encounters as roaming events:

• Spawn several seekers in Creative to observe how often they make requests.
• Stay within 24 blocks if you want to encourage an approach.
• Move beyond 32 blocks to break an active approach.
• Do not waste diamonds or emeralds expecting a trade; the mod’s interaction ends with the request itself.
• Watch for the custom demand sound and chat message when a seeker reaches you.
