Cab Phone

Quickstart

1. Craft a Car Phone and keep it in your hand.
2. Use the phone to open its app menu.
3. Open Car App and press Summon / Ride. Your Lightglider appears nearby and you automatically mount it.
4. Drive with WASD. Press B by default to use Lightglider Boost.
5. Try the Boating App near water or the Hoverboard App anywhere above solid ground.
6. For a remote camera, open Drone App and choose Launch Drone.

The phone remembers your Lightglider’s active ride and color settings. Only its owner can ride or control it.

Overview

Cab Phone adds a multifunctional Car Phone that controls a personal Lightglider. The phone provides apps for:

• Summoning and dismissing your Lightglider
• Customizing the car, boat, and hoverboard colors
• Transforming the Lightglider into a sleek sport boat
• Transforming it into a floating hoverboard
• Launching and piloting a remote camera drone
• Managing five slots of drone storage

It also adds a placeable Basic Bench that players can sit on.

What It Adds

Car Phone

The Car Phone is the main item for the mod. Use it to open the phone interface and choose an app:

Lightglider Forms

Your personal Lightglider has three forms:

• Car: Drives across the ground with forward, reverse, steering, and boost.
• Sport boat: Becomes available when the Lightglider is in or touching water.
• Hoverboard: Floats above the ground and moves smoothly in the direction you steer.

The Lightglider can carry one rider. Other players cannot mount or control your Lightglider.

Reworked Drone

The phone can launch a small green camera drone. The drone is remotely controlled while your player stays at the launch location. Its storage bay has five slots and belongs to the player who launched it.

Basic Bench

The Basic Bench is a placeable seat. Right-click it while not sneaking to sit down. Break it with an axe to collect it again.

How To Use

Opening the Phone

Hold the Car Phone in either hand and use it to open the phone interface. Choose an app from the home screen, then press Back to return to the app menu.

Summoning and Dismissing a Lightglider

1. Open Car App, Boating App, or Hoverboard App.
2. Press Summon / Ride.
3. Your owned Lightglider is summoned near you and you mount it automatically.
4. Use Dismiss Ride when you want to remove it.

If your Lightglider already exists, Summon / Ride recalls it to your location instead of creating another one. Dismissing the ride ends your mount and beams the Lightglider away.

Driving

While mounted:

• W — Move forward
• S — Move backward
• A/D — Steer
• Shift — Dismount using the normal Minecraft vehicle control
• B — Activate Lightglider Boost by default

Boost gives a short burst of extra performance and has a brief cooldown. You can change the boost key in Minecraft’s Controls menu under the Lightglider category.

Using Boat Form

1. Open Boating App.
2. Move your summoned Lightglider into water.
3. Press Transform to Boat.
4. Ride it across the water with the normal vehicle controls.
5. Press Return to Car when you want to leave boat form.

The app displays Need Water until the Lightglider is in a suitable water position. Boat form can also be selected before summoning; the Lightglider transforms when it is summoned in water.

Using Hoverboard Form

1. Open Hoverboard App.
2. Press Transform to Hoverboard.
3. Mount the Lightglider if you are not already riding it.
4. Use WASD to surf through the world.
5. Press Return to Car to leave hoverboard form.

The hoverboard floats above nearby ground and gently bobs while moving.

Launching the Drone

1. Use the Car Phone and open Drone App.
2. Press Launch Drone.
3. The phone interface closes and your view switches to the drone’s camera.

Look around to aim the drone. Your player remains at the original location while the drone is active.

The drone remains owned by you. Launching it again reuses your existing owned drone when one is already available.

Drone Bay

While viewing through the drone:

1. Press E to open Drone Bay.
2. Place items into its five storage slots or move them back to your inventory.
3. Close the bay and continue piloting.
4. Press R to return to your player.

Only the drone’s owner can open its storage or control it.

Basic Bench

Craft a Basic Bench from oak planks and sticks:

Place the bench on the ground and right-click it to sit.

Car Phone

Craft the Car Phone using leather, blue dye, string, and an ender pearl:

The phone has a glint and can be reused for summoning, customization, transformations, and drone control.

Abilities And Mechanics

Customization

Each vehicle form has its own saved color scheme. Open the relevant app and select a part, then click a color in the Color Palette.

There are twelve palette colors, including dark tones, light tones, blue and cyan shades, green, gold, orange, and red. Changes apply to an active Lightglider immediately and are remembered by the phone for later summons.

Ownership

The player who summons a Lightglider becomes its owner. The owner is the only player who can mount it or use the phone to recall and dismiss it. The same ownership rule applies to the remote drone.

Transformations

Boat and hoverboard forms are alternate modes of the same Lightglider rather than separate vehicles. Switching from boat or hoverboard form returns the ride to its car form. Selecting one alternate form automatically leaves the other.

Progression And Strategy

• Craft the Car Phone as soon as you have an ender pearl; it replaces the need to search for or manually manage a vehicle.
• Customize the car before summoning it so your preferred colors are applied immediately.
• Keep the phone with you: it is used to recall a Lightglider that has been left behind.
• Take the Lightglider to a shoreline before opening Boating App. The app will not transform it without water.
• Use hoverboard form for fast travel over uneven terrain and boat form for water routes.
• Save useful supplies in the drone’s five-slot bay before sending it out for scouting.
• Use the drone’s camera to inspect areas while your player stays safely in place, then press R to return.
