    Description:

Life As Slime turns you into an agile, squishy adventurer: you move and place slime like normal blocks, break blocks with vanilla tools, gain a five-block jump, take no fall damage (this also protects player-bonded companions), and wild slimes can spawn in any biome day or night while overall mob populations are slightly increased. Gameplay centers on mass and consumption — press R to consume whatever you’re looking at (Left Shift + R to split when mass allows) which increases your mass and now also restores a small amount of hunger and saturation; baby slimes can even eat coral blocks and coral fans. Press Y to fire an acid attack that breaks the targeted block and drops its loot (7-second cooldown), and progression includes rare Slime Sword and full Slime Armor in village chests, a Creative Testing Tool that opens a Slime Mastery screen to set/reset/split mass, safe placement on first spawn or respawn near a village, plus clear tooltips, chat feedback, squish sounds and particle effects. NOTE! you might spawn underground, use acid attack, check/change keybinds.

    Life As Slime

    Quickstart

When you join a world with this mod installed, you are already a slime — no crafting or special setup required. You start as a Baby Slime, tiny and squishy.

    1. Consume things — Press R to eat whatever you're looking at (blocks, plants, mobs). Your mass grows and your hunger restores.
    2. Jump — You have a natural five-block jump. No fall damage, ever.
    3. Shoot acid — Press Y to fire an acid blast that dissolves up to three blocks ahead, dropping their loot. Cooldown: 3 seconds.
    4. Split — Once you have enough mass, press Left Shift + R to split off some of it.
    5. Find villages — Loot village chests for rare Slime Sword and Slime Armor pieces. Kill villagers to collect Villager Essence, which instantly grants +300 mass when consumed.

Your first spawn (and respawns) are guaranteed to place you safely near a village with clear sky above.

    Overview

Life As Slime transforms your entire gameplay experience: you play as a living slime, growing larger and more powerful by consuming the world around you. Progression is driven by mass — the more you eat, the bigger your tier, and the more you can eat. The world is also livelier, with wild slimes spawning in every biome at any time, and slightly increased populations of other mobs.

    Slime Armor

Slime Armor is a full diamond-tier equivalent set (durability 30, enchantability 18, +2 toughness, +0.05 knockback resistance). Defense values: Helmet 3, Chestplate 8, Leggings 6, Boots 3. It is repaired with slime balls on an anvil.

    Slime Sword

Diamond-equivalent sword with +3 attack damage and –2.4 attack speed.

    How To Use

    Controls

    KeyAction
RConsume what you're looking at, or consume the item in your main hand
Left Shift + RSplit (requires sufficient mass)
    YFire an acid attack

    Consuming

Point your crosshair at a block, entity, or item and press R. If it is within your current tier's consumption rank, you absorb it: your mass increases, and you restore a small amount of hunger and saturation. Consuming the Villager Essence item (right-click or R) grants an immediate +300 mass bonus.

Baby slimes can eat coral — useful for early-game mass gain near warm oceans.

    Acid Attack

Press Y to shoot a corrosive projectile in a straight line. It dissolves up to three blocks in its path and drops all their loot. Range is 32 blocks. Cooldown is 3 seconds.

    Fall Damage & Movement

You take zero fall damage, which also protects any player-bonded companion slimes nearby. You have a five-block natural jump height and improved water movement speed. Reach (both block and entity interaction range) scales up with your tier.

    Slime Trading

Right-click an adoptable wild slime bonded to you to open a trading screen. Trades offer mass-granting consumables, status effects, and cosmetic skin changes in exchange for items.

    Abilities And Mechanics

    Mass & Size Tiers

Your size and power are determined by accumulated mass. Each tier unlocks new consumable targets and increases your attack damage and reach.

TierMass RequiredScaleAttack DamageWhat You Can Consume
Baby Slime0Tiny0.2Tall grass, flowers, ferns, small bushes, snow
Small Slime1,500Small0.65Dirt, grass, crops, leaves, sand, gravel, small mobs (chickens, rabbits, foxes…)
Medium Slime4,000Medium1.5Stone, cobblestone, wood/logs, planks, medium mobs (sheep, pigs, cows, goats…)
Large Slime8,000Large3.0Granite, andesite, deepslate and variants, large mobs (horses, donkeys, llamas…)
Huge Slime12,000Very Large5.0Villagers, iron golems, most heavy building blocks
    King Slime15,000Massive8.0Nearly anything

When you advance to a new tier, a chat message announces it with a sound and particle burst.

    Splitting

Hold Left Shift + R to split when your mass allows. This reduces your current mass and can be used strategically to shed size or create bonded baby slimes.

    Wild Slime Spawns

Slimes spawn naturally in every biome, day and night. There is a soft cap of 8 wild (unbonded) slimes within ~80 blocks of you. General overworld mob populations (zombies, skeletons, spiders, creepers, cows, sheep, pigs, chickens) are also modestly increased.

    Hostility

Villagers, iron golems, and hostile mobs will actively target and attack you. Village defenders track you within 32 blocks; standard hostiles pursue you up to 40 blocks away. Wild slimes may also aggress at close range.

    Cosmetic Skins

Your slime's visual pattern can be cycled. Purchasing dye-based trades from a bonded slime merchant cycles through 6 available skin patterns.

    Crafting And Obtaining

There are no crafting recipes for mod items. Slime Armor and the Slime Sword are found exclusively as rare loot in village chests:

    • Village Weaponsmith chest — Slime Sword (~8% chance)
    • Village Armorer chest — Helmet & Boots (~4.5%), Chestplate & Leggings (~4%)
    • Village Toolsmith / Temple chest — Sword (~3.5%), armor pieces (~1.8–2%)

Villager Essence drops from killed villagers and can be right-clicked or consumed with R for an instant mass boost of 300.

    Progression And Strategy

    1. Start small — As a Baby Slime, eat flowers, grass, and snow to begin building mass toward the 1,500 threshold.
    2. Hit the ocean early — Coral, kelp, and seagrass are high-value foods for early tiers. Kelp and seagrass are marked as superfoods with a 5× mass multiplier.
    3. Find a village — Villages give you a safe spawn point and are the only source of Slime Armor and the Slime Sword. Loot chests on arrival.
    4. Farm Villager Essence — Each essence adds 300 mass instantly. A handful of them can jump you up a tier quickly, but be mindful of iron golem retaliation.
    5. Equip Slime Armor — It provides near-diamond protection and can be repaired with slime balls at an anvil. Wear it as soon as you find it.
    6. Use acid strategically — The acid attack is your only ranged option and a great mining shortcut; the 3-second cooldown is short enough to use frequently.
    7. Trade with bonded slimes — Right-clicking a bonded slime opens trades for mass jellies, Night Vision, Jump Boost, Speed, Strength, Resistance, and Slow Falling — all valuable for deep exploration.
    8. King Slime Crown — If you reach the King tier (15,000 mass) or use the crown, you become the largest and most powerful form, capable of consuming almost any block or entity in the world.
