Description:
When you join a world with this mod installed, you are already a slime — no crafting or special setup required. You start as a Baby Slime, tiny and squishy.
Your first spawn (and respawns) are guaranteed to place you safely near a village with clear sky above.
Life As Slime transforms your entire gameplay experience: you play as a living slime, growing larger and more powerful by consuming the world around you. Progression is driven by mass — the more you eat, the bigger your tier, and the more you can eat. The world is also livelier, with wild slimes spawning in every biome at any time, and slightly increased populations of other mobs.

Slime Armor is a full diamond-tier equivalent set (durability 30, enchantability 18, +2 toughness, +0.05 knockback resistance). Defense values: Helmet 3, Chestplate 8, Leggings 6, Boots 3. It is repaired with slime balls on an anvil.
Diamond-equivalent sword with +3 attack damage and –2.4 attack speed.
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| R | Consume what you're looking at, or consume the item in your main hand |
| Left Shift + R | Split (requires sufficient mass) |
| Y | Fire an acid attack |
Point your crosshair at a block, entity, or item and press R. If it is within your current tier's consumption rank, you absorb it: your mass increases, and you restore a small amount of hunger and saturation. Consuming the Villager Essence item (right-click or R) grants an immediate +300 mass bonus.
Baby slimes can eat coral — useful for early-game mass gain near warm oceans.
Press Y to shoot a corrosive projectile in a straight line. It dissolves up to three blocks in its path and drops all their loot. Range is 32 blocks. Cooldown is 3 seconds.
You take zero fall damage, which also protects any player-bonded companion slimes nearby. You have a five-block natural jump height and improved water movement speed. Reach (both block and entity interaction range) scales up with your tier.
Right-click an adoptable wild slime bonded to you to open a trading screen. Trades offer mass-granting consumables, status effects, and cosmetic skin changes in exchange for items.
Your size and power are determined by accumulated mass. Each tier unlocks new consumable targets and increases your attack damage and reach.
| Tier | Mass Required | Scale | Attack Damage | What You Can Consume |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Baby Slime | 0 | Tiny | 0.2 | Tall grass, flowers, ferns, small bushes, snow |
| Small Slime | 1,500 | Small | 0.65 | Dirt, grass, crops, leaves, sand, gravel, small mobs (chickens, rabbits, foxes…) |
| Medium Slime | 4,000 | Medium | 1.5 | Stone, cobblestone, wood/logs, planks, medium mobs (sheep, pigs, cows, goats…) |
| Large Slime | 8,000 | Large | 3.0 | Granite, andesite, deepslate and variants, large mobs (horses, donkeys, llamas…) |
| Huge Slime | 12,000 | Very Large | 5.0 | Villagers, iron golems, most heavy building blocks |
| King Slime | 15,000 | Massive | 8.0 | Nearly anything |
When you advance to a new tier, a chat message announces it with a sound and particle burst.
Hold Left Shift + R to split when your mass allows. This reduces your current mass and can be used strategically to shed size or create bonded baby slimes.
Slimes spawn naturally in every biome, day and night. There is a soft cap of 8 wild (unbonded) slimes within ~80 blocks of you. General overworld mob populations (zombies, skeletons, spiders, creepers, cows, sheep, pigs, chickens) are also modestly increased.
Villagers, iron golems, and hostile mobs will actively target and attack you. Village defenders track you within 32 blocks; standard hostiles pursue you up to 40 blocks away. Wild slimes may also aggress at close range.
Your slime's visual pattern can be cycled. Purchasing dye-based trades from a bonded slime merchant cycles through 6 available skin patterns.
There are no crafting recipes for mod items. Slime Armor and the Slime Sword are found exclusively as rare loot in village chests:
Villager Essence drops from killed villagers and can be right-clicked or consumed with R for an instant mass boost of 300.
