Lesser Divinity
Quickstart
- Craft or obtain a Lesser Divinity.
- Craft it at a crafting table using the recipe below.
- In Creative mode, find it in the Equipment category, or use:
/give @s charter:lesser_divinity 1
- Equip it in your main hand or off-hand.
- Attack an entity with health until your strike leaves it with less than 5 health points. A target with exactly 5 health is not eligible.
- The Divine Judgment activates on the struck target. If it does not activate immediately, keep the same target in sight within 6 blocks and press the item’s use button.
- Move away from the target. The judgment remains anchored to the strike location and unleashes a large area attack after a short charge.
Overview
Lesser Divinity is a single-stack weapon that delivers up to three Divine Judgment activations. Each judgment locks onto a weakened target, freezes it during a brief charge, and then destroys it with lightning, a pillar of divine energy, and an expanding shockwave.
The item has three judgments available. The third judgment is the most destructive and consumes the Lesser Divinity.
What It Adds
- Lesser Divinity — A hand-equipped item with three devastating judgments.
- A delayed execution effect for entities reduced below 5 health.
- Expanding shockwaves that damage and launch nearby entities.
- A massive crystal detonation on the third judgment.
- Five Shards of Divinity awarded after the third judgment.
How To Use
Triggering a Judgment
A judgment is tied to an entity you strike with the Lesser Divinity:
- The item must be equipped in either hand when you attack.
- The struck entity must have less than 5 health after the hit.
- The target must be a living entity or another entity that has a health value.
- If you need to complete the activation with the use button, aim at the previously struck target from no more than 6 blocks away.
- Looking at a different entity does not retarget the judgment.
Once activated, the target and the strike location are locked in. You can leave the area while the judgment charges.
The Charge
The target is immobilized while a glowing Charter symbol appears around the captured location. The charge lasts about 3 seconds.
During this time, the target is kept alive and protected from outside damage. The final judgment is allowed to deliver the killing blow when the charge ends.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft Lesser Divinity at a crafting table with netherite scrap, lead, and a netherite ingot:
The item can also be obtained from the Creative inventory under Equipment or with /give @s charter:lesser_divinity 1.
Abilities And Mechanics
Delayed Divine Strike
When the charge finishes:
- The locked target receives a lethal magic strike.
- A tall pillar of explosive energy and flame appears at the judgment location.
- Lightning strikes around the area.
- Nearby entities are recorded as potential victims of the judgment.
Deaths caused by the judgment can be announced in chat as:
[Name's Existence was Repurposed]
Expanding Shockwave
Each judgment releases five expanding shockwave pulses. The shockwave:
- Damages entities in its path.
- Launches entities away from the judgment center.
- Can affect entities other than the locked target.
- Reaches farther with each successive use.
The approximate maximum radii are:
| Judgment | Maximum shockwave radius |
|---|
| First | 100 blocks |
| Second | 150 blocks |
| Third | 200 blocks |
The shockwave can also throw certain non-living entities, such as dropped items, projectiles, and vehicles.
Third Judgment
The third activation adds a wide field of end-crystal detonations around the strike location. The crystal field covers a circular area with a radius of roughly 50 blocks and creates powerful explosions.
After the third judgment activates:
- The Lesser Divinity is removed.
- You receive 5 Shards of Divinity.
Progression And Strategy
- Weaken a target carefully; reducing it to exactly 5 health is not enough.
- Activate the judgment in an open area and move away immediately.
- Keep valuable builds, allies, and other entities well outside the shockwave radius.
- Use the first two judgments for controlled executions when possible.
- Reserve the third judgment for a location where the crystal detonation and 200-block shockwave will not cause unwanted destruction.
- Since the target is protected during the charge, you have time to retreat before the final strike begins.
