Iron Nugget Sniper

Quickstart

1. Craft the Iron Nugget Sniper (recipe below) or grab it from the Combat creative tab.
2. Stock your inventory with iron nuggets — each shot uses one.
3. Hold right-click to charge. Keep holding for at least 2 seconds.
4. Release right-click to fire. The nugget flies fast and nearly flat.
5. Wait out the 4-second cooldown, then fire again.

Overview

The Iron Nugget Sniper is a high-powered ranged weapon that launches iron nuggets at extreme velocity. Each shot deals 40 damage (20 hearts), enough to eliminate almost any mob in a single hit. The trade-off is a deliberate, slow rhythm: a required 2-second charge, limited ammunition, and a cooldown between shots. It rewards patience and accurate aim over rapid fire.

What It Adds

• Iron Nugget Sniper — a single-stack ranged weapon found in the Combat creative tab with 250 durability.
• Iron Nugget Projectile — the high-speed, near-flat-trajectory projectile fired by the weapon.

How To Use

• Releasing right-click before the 2-second minimum does nothing; the shot simply won't fire.
• In Creative mode, no iron nuggets are consumed.
• Each successful shot damages the weapon by 1 durability (250 shots before it breaks).

Crafting And Obtaining

The sniper is crafted at a crafting table using iron ingots, an iron block, sticks, and a single iron nugget:

Abilities And Mechanics

• Damage: 40 (20 full hearts) per hit — one-shots nearly every mob in vanilla Minecraft.
• Trajectory: Extremely low gravity on the projectile gives it a near-flat flight path, making long-range shots intuitive.
• Speed: Projectile launches at high velocity, minimizing lead time needed on moving targets.
• Ammunition: Each shot consumes 1 iron nugget from your inventory. No nuggets = no shot.
• Cooldown: After firing, the weapon enters a 4-second cooldown before it can be charged again.
• Charge time: A full 2 seconds of holding right-click is required before releasing will fire.
• Durability: 250 shots worth of use before the item breaks.
• Sound: Fires with a loud anvil-impact sound, so both you and nearby players will hear every shot.

Progression And Strategy

• Collect iron nuggets in bulk. Each fight uses one nugget per target; smelt or craft extra iron nuggets before heading out.
• Pre-charge before engaging. Because the 2-second charge happens before the shot, start charging as soon as you spot a target rather than waiting until it's close.
• Use the flat trajectory to your advantage. Aim directly at distant mobs rather than arcing upward — the projectile barely drops over long distances.
• Mind the cooldown. Against multiple enemies, prioritize the biggest threat first. You won't get a follow-up shot for 4 seconds.
• Durability management. 250 shots is generous for a high-damage weapon, but bring a mending enchantment or spare materials for long expeditions.
• Boss fights. The 40-damage output makes short work of many bosses, but the charge time makes it risky in close quarters — keep your distance.
