Iron Nugget Sniper

Quickstart

1. Craft the Iron Nugget Sniper (the recipe is unlocked automatically when you join a world).
2. Stock your inventory with iron nuggets — each shot consumes one.
3. Hold the Iron Nugget Sniper in your hand and right-click to fire.
4. A visible iron nugget projectile streaks toward your crosshair with a fast, nearly flat trajectory.
5. Wait 3 seconds between shots, then fire again.

Overview

The Iron Nugget Sniper is a ranged weapon that turns humble iron nuggets into devastating sniper rounds. It fires high-speed projectiles with very little drop, making it effective at long range. Each successful hit deals 12 hearts (24 damage), which is enough to one-shot most mobs in the game with a well-placed shot.

What It Adds

The weapon also introduces an invisible iron nugget projectile entity that travels through the world at high speed when fired.

How To Use

• Right-click (use) while holding the Iron Nugget Sniper to shoot.
• The weapon searches your entire inventory for an iron nugget and consumes one per shot.
• If no iron nuggets are found, the shot will not fire.
• After each shot, a 3-second cooldown (shown on the item as a swipe animation) must elapse before you can fire again.
• Players in Creative mode do not consume ammo.
• The projectile renders as a spinning iron nugget in flight and disappears on impact with any entity or block.

Abilities And Mechanics

• The projectile originates from the shooter's eye level and travels in the exact direction of your crosshair.
• Minimal gravity means the shot travels in an almost straight line, making it behave like a true sniper rifle at most practical combat ranges.
• Hitting a mob attributes the damage to the shooter, so kill credit and loot are handled normally.

Progression And Strategy

• Ammo is cheap: Iron nuggets are obtained by smelting or crafting from iron ingots (9 nuggets per ingot), so you can carry large stacks for sustained use.
• One-shot potential: 24 damage kills most overworld mobs outright — skeletons, zombies, creepers, and even Endermen go down in a single hit.
• Cooldown management: The 3-second cooldown encourages picking your shots carefully. Pair the sniper with a melee weapon for close-range encounters between shots.
• Durability: At 256 uses, keep an eye on the item's durability bar. Carry repair materials or a spare if heading into extended combat.
• Creative play: In Creative mode, ammo is never consumed, letting you test shots freely.
