Quickstart

1. Craft the Iron Nugget Shotgun using the recipe below.
2. Stock your inventory with iron nuggets — each shot consumes one.
3. Hold the shotgun and right-click to blast a spread of eight iron nugget pellets.
4. Watch for the 1-second cooldown before you can fire again.

Overview

The Iron Nugget Shotgun is a powerful close-range weapon that fires a wide spread of iron nugget pellets. It excels at dealing massive burst damage up close, making it ideal for tight corridors, cave fights, or any situation where enemies are rushing you. The weapon has limited durability, so resource management is key to keeping it in fighting shape.

What It Adds

• Iron Nugget Shotgun — a single-stack ranged weapon found in the Combat creative tab.

How To Use

• Right-click (use item) while holding the shotgun to fire.
• Each shot fires 8 pellets in a spread pattern, each dealing 12 damage on hit (up to 96 total damage if all pellets connect at point-blank range).
• Each shot consumes 1 iron nugget from anywhere in your inventory. If you have no iron nuggets, the weapon will not fire.
• In Creative mode, no iron nuggets are consumed.
• A 1-second cooldown (20 ticks) is applied after each shot before you can fire again.
• A custom sound effect plays on each shot.

Crafting And Obtaining

The recipe is unlocked automatically when you join a world. Craft the shotgun at a crafting table:

Abilities And Mechanics

Pellets are physical projectiles affected by gravity, so at longer ranges they will drop slightly. The weapon is most effective at close range where the full spread can connect with a single target.

Progression And Strategy

• Gather iron nuggets in bulk before heading into combat — each fight can burn through many shots quickly. Iron ingots can be converted to 9 nuggets each at a crafting table.
• Close the gap before firing. The wide spread means pellets can miss at long range, but at short range the full 96-damage burst can devastate even tough enemies.
• Monitor durability — the shotgun has 256 uses before breaking. Avoid wasting shots on weak mobs if you need the weapon for a boss or difficult encounter.
• Keep spare nuggets in your hotbar so you never find yourself out of ammo mid-fight.
