Mod Wiki
Iron Core Frame
Quickstart
- Craft a Fusion Core: .
- Craft the starter frame pieces: helmet , chest rig , leg braces , and boots .
- Equip all four pieces from the same suit tier and carry a Fusion Core in your inventory. A complete frame with a usable core grants powered-suit effects.
- Hold a Fusion Core and use it (right-click by default) while wearing a complete suit to open its 10-slot cargo rack. Any complete suit tier can access the rack.
- To advance, use a smithing table to upgrade each frame piece into T-45, then continue through the suit tiers listed below.
Overview
Iron Core Frame is a craftable power-armor progression. Build a basic frame, then upgrade it through T-45, T-51, T-60, X-01, and X-02. Wearing a complete, matching set activates its suit bonuses; carrying a Fusion Core powers those bonuses.
Crafting And Obtaining
The basic frame is crafted from iron and copper. Its chest rig recipe also uses a Fusion Core. The core recipe uses copper ingots, redstone, and blaze powder.
Each upgrade uses a Smithing Table: place a matching upgrade template, the previous-tier armor piece, and the tier’s required addition in the smithing slots. Upgrade each armor slot separately.
| Upgrade | Template recipe | Armor-piece upgrade recipes |
|---|---|---|
| T-45 | Helmet · Chestplate · Leggings · Boots | |
| T-51 | Helmet · Chestplate · Leggings · Boots | |
| T-60 | Helmet · Chestplate · Leggings · Boots | |
| X-01 | Helmet · Chestplate · Leggings · Boots | |
| X-02 | Helmet · Chestplate · Leggings · Boots |
The T-45 upgrade uses an iron block. T-51 uses a netherite ingot. T-60, X-01, and X-02 each use a netherite block. Make enough templates to upgrade all four pieces.
Abilities And Mechanics
- A complete set means all four pieces of the same tier. Mixed tiers do not activate a complete-suit bonus.
- Fusion Core power: With a complete suit and a usable core in your inventory, you gain Speed I, Resistance I, and Fire Resistance I. The core loses durability while powering a complete set—about one point every 20 seconds, or roughly 90 minutes of active use from a full core.
- Higher-tier effects: T-51 adds Strength I and improves Speed and Resistance to II. T-60 grants Speed IV, Resistance IV, Strength III, and Haste II. X-01 grants Speed V, Resistance V, Strength IV, and Haste III. X-02 grants Speed VI, Strength V, and Haste IV, in addition to the baseline Resistance and Fire Resistance.
- Environmental protection: A complete X-01 suit prevents fall and drowning damage. A complete X-02 suit prevents all damage.
- Cargo rack: Use a Fusion Core while wearing any complete suit to open a 10-slot rack stored in the suit’s chestplate. The rack is for carrying items; it does not require the suit’s powered effects to be active.
Progression And Strategy
Start with the frame to try the powered effects and cargo rack, then upgrade piece by piece through the full tier sequence. Keep a usable Fusion Core in your inventory for suit effects, and bring spares for extended use. X-01 adds protection from falls and drowning; a complete X-02 set provides the strongest armor and complete damage protection.
