Overview
The Inferno Witchstaff is an epic magical weapon that burns with dark power. Simply holding it transforms you into a fire-wreathed combatant — immune to flames, heartier than normal, and leaving fire in your wake. Swing it to poison your enemies, or unleash its devastating active ability to rain TNT from the sky while you vanish and recover your health.

Abilities And Mechanics
Passive Effects (while held)
All passive effects are active as long as the staff is in your main hand. They expire shortly after you switch away.
- Fire Trail — The block of air at your feet is continuously ignited, leaving fire wherever you walk.
- Fire Resistance — You are permanently immune to fire and lava damage.
- +5 Extra Hearts — Your maximum health is increased by 5 hearts (10 HP).
On-Hit Effect
Every time you strike a mob or player, they receive Poison II for 5 seconds, dealing rapid poison damage on top of the staff's base attack.
Active Ability — Inferno Barrage (90-second cooldown)
Press Use (right-click on Java-style controls, or long-press on touch) to activate:
- 10 lit TNT rain down from 30 blocks above your position — devastating anything in the area.
- You become Invisible for 10 seconds, letting you escape the blast zone unseen.
- You are fully healed to maximum health instantly.
⚠️ The TNT falls directly above you. Move away immediately after activating!
Crafting And Obtaining
The Inferno Witchstaff is crafted at a standard Crafting Table using Nether materials:
Repairing
The staff can be repaired using an Anvil with either:
Each repair item restores a significant amount of durability.
Progression And Strategy
- Early use: Craft the staff as soon as you have Blaze Rods from the Nether. The permanent Fire Resistance alone makes Nether exploration much safer.
- Combat opener: Activate the barrage ability before or during a tough fight — the full heal and invisibility let you reposition while the TNT does the work.
- Boss fights: The Poison-on-hit stacks with other damage sources. Combine with the +5 heart boost for a significant health advantage.
- Cooldown management: The active ability has a 90-second cooldown. Time it for high-stakes moments rather than wasting it on small skirmishes.
- Enchanting: The staff accepts sword enchantments (Sharpness, Looting, Fire Aspect, etc.), further amplifying its damage output.
- Watch your footing: The fire trail ignites the ground beneath you. This is harmless while Fire Resistance is active, but nearby flammable blocks can catch — be careful indoors or in wooden structures.
