I Was Groot

Quickstart

1. Download and install the .mcaddon file by opening it — Minecraft will import both the resource and behavior packs automatically.
2. Create a new world (or open an existing one) and navigate to Resource Packs in the world settings. Activate I Was Groot from your available packs.
3. Load into the world, find or place any standard log (oak, spruce, birch, etc.), and look at its top or bottom face — you'll see "I Was Groot" printed right on the cut end.

No crafting, commands, or extra steps are needed. It's purely cosmetic and works immediately on every eligible log in the world.

Overview

I Was Groot is a cosmetic resource pack for Minecraft Bedrock. It replaces the cut-end textures — the top and bottom faces — of every vanilla log and stripped log (except bamboo) so that the phrase "I Was Groot" appears on both faces, regardless of how the log is oriented or rotated. There are zero gameplay changes; the pack is purely a visual reskin.

What It Adds

A single visual change: custom cut-end textures on all eligible vanilla logs. The affected wood and stem types are:

• Bamboo logs or any bamboo-related blocks
• Log side textures
• Wood blocks, planks, stairs, slabs, fences
• Leaves, saplings, or any non-log block

How To Use

Once the pack is enabled on your world, no action is required beyond placing or finding logs. The "I Was Groot" text appears automatically on the top and bottom faces of every eligible log block. Rotate logs in any direction — the cut-end texture follows the face, so the text always shows on the cross-section regardless of orientation.

This is ideal for decorative builds where exposed log ends are visible, giving every timber cross-section a fun, recognizable signature.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Purely cosmetic — no stats, items, mobs, or crafting recipes are added or changed.
• Always-on — the texture applies to every loaded chunk that contains an eligible log; no special placement or activation needed.
• Orientation-aware — logs placed on their side show the "I Was Groot" text on whichever face is the cut end, consistent with vanilla log rotation behavior.
• Bamboo untouched — bamboo logs and all bamboo-derived blocks retain their completely vanilla appearance.
