Honeybrew Tavern
Quickstart
- Visit a village. A timber tavern can appear near the village meeting area, with a brewing counter, bartender, and fenced crop garden.
- If you are playing in Creative, take a Tavern Brewing Counter, Tavern Mug, seeds, and any brewing ingredients from the Creative inventory. You can also craft them using the recipes below.
- Plant a crop starter on farmland. Grow and harvest Sky Mint, Emberbloom, Deep Kelp, Moonflower, Ironroot, or Cloudblossom.
- Right-click the Tavern Brewing Counter. Put one harvested plant, one matching ingredient, and one Tavern Mug into its three input slots. The ingredients can be placed in any order.
- Wait about 10 seconds. Collect the drink from the output slot, then right-click it to drink. Survival players receive an empty Tavern Mug after drinking.

How To Use
The Tavern Brewing Counter
Right-click a placed Tavern Brewing Counter to open its interface. It has:
- Three input slots for ingredients.
- One output slot for finished drinks.
- A brewing progress arrow.
Place one of each required ingredient into the input slots. A valid recipe starts automatically, lights the counter, and takes approximately 10 seconds to complete. One of each input item is consumed when the drink finishes.
The three ingredients can be placed in any order. The counter does not use fuel. Brewing pauses if the ingredients do not form a valid recipe or if the output slot cannot accept the result.
The counter can hold finished drinks of the same type in its output slot. Breaking the counter drops its stored items.
The Tavern Recipe Book
Hold the Tavern Recipe Book in your main hand and use it to open the Tavern Recipes screen. One recipe is displayed per page.
- Hover over an item to see its name.
- Click
<and>at the bottom of the page to browse recipes. - The book displays all eight brewing combinations and their results.

Village Taverns
Honeybrew Tavern can create a compact timber tavern near the meeting area of a vanilla village. A generated tavern includes:
- A Tavern Brewing Counter.
- A barrel and crafting table.
- A fenced garden containing all six tavern crops.
- A bartender workstation.
- A fenced garden with an internal water channel.
An adult unemployed villager can claim an available counter and become a bartender. A player-placed counter can also serve as a workstation for a nearby villager.
Bartender Trades
Bartenders offer different goods as they gain experience:
| Villager rank | Possible offers |
|---|---|
| Novice | Sky Mint Seeds, Emberbloom Seeds, or Deep Kelp Spores |
| Apprentice | Moonflower Seeds, Ironroot Seeds, or Cloudblossom Seeds |
| Journeyman | Waterdeep Draught, Emberguard Ale, or Swiftfoot Cider |
| Expert | Ironroot Stout, Skyfall Cider, or Moonwatch Mead |
| Master | Cloudstep Tonic or Turtle Master Tonic |
Trade with a bartender to level it up and unlock higher-rank offers.
Abilities And Mechanics
Growing Tavern Crops
Use a seed or Deep Kelp Spores on farmland to plant the associated crop. The crops grow like ordinary farmland crops and can be accelerated with bone meal.
Nectar-carrying bees near a crop can provide additional growth acceleration. Keep beehives and flowers near your tavern garden if you want to make use of this effect.
Harvesting an immature crop returns its seed or spores. Harvesting a mature crop gives the harvested plant and seed or spore drops so the crop can be replanted.
Bartenders tend the gardens of generated village taverns. They plant missing crops and harvest mature plants when they work near their tavern.
Brewing Recipes
All recipes use one Tavern Mug. Ingredient order does not matter.
| Harvested plant | Additional ingredient | Drink |
|---|---|---|
| Deep Kelp | Sugar | Waterdeep Draught |
| Emberbloom | Honey Bottle | Emberguard Ale |
| Ironroot | Wheat | Ironroot Stout |
| Sky Mint | Apple | Skyfall Cider |
| Cloudblossom | Feather | Cloudstep Tonic |
| Moonflower | Glow Berries | Moonwatch Mead |
| Ironroot | Turtle Scute | Turtle Master Tonic |
| Sky Mint | Sugar | Swiftfoot Cider |
Drink Effects
Right-click a drink to consume it.
| Drink | Effect |
|---|---|
| Waterdeep Draught | Water Breathing I |
| Emberguard Ale | Fire Resistance I |
| Ironroot Stout | Strength I |
| Skyfall Cider | Slow Falling I |
| Cloudstep Tonic | Levitation I |
| Moonwatch Mead | Night Vision I |
| Turtle Master Tonic | Resistance III and Slowness IV |
| Swiftfoot Cider | Speed I |
The featured effect lasts for 90 seconds. Every tavern drink also causes Nausea for 25 seconds, so prepare for a brief drunken spell after drinking.
In Survival, drinking consumes one beverage and returns an empty Tavern Mug to your inventory. If your inventory is full, the mug is dropped nearby. Creative players do not consume the drink.
Composting Seeds
All six crop starters, including Deep Kelp Spores, can be placed in a composter. Each has a 30% chance to increase the composter level, making surplus seeds and spores useful instead of waste.
Progression And Strategy
- Start with a village tavern. Use its garden and bartender to obtain your first crop starters.
- Expand the garden. Keep one or more plants of each type growing so you can brew every drink.
- Keep bees nearby. Nectar-carrying bees can speed up the growth of nearby tavern crops.
- Stockpile mugs and ingredients. Every brew requires a Tavern Mug and one ordinary ingredient such as sugar, wheat, or an apple.
- Use Sky Mint and Ironroot flexibly. Sky Mint makes both a Slow Falling drink and a Speed drink, while Ironroot makes either Strength or the defensive Turtle Master Tonic.
- Plan around each effect. Cloudstep Tonic provides Levitation, so use it where you have room to land. Turtle Master Tonic offers strong resistance but makes you very slow.
- Clear the output slot regularly. The counter will not start a new brew if its output cannot accept the finished drink.
