Hells Blade

Quickstart

1. Craft Hells Blade with two magma blocks and one blaze rod:

1. Equip it in your hotbar and attack a mob with the attack control. A struck mob is slowed and set on fire.
2. Use the item control while holding Hells Blade to launch a flaming projectile in the direction you are looking. The projectile deals heavy damage and ignites living targets.
3. Kill mobs directly with the blade to receive 66 experience points per kill.

Overview

Hells Blade is a one-handed sword with powerful melee and ranged abilities. It combines crowd control, fire damage, a high-damage fireball, and bonus experience from melee kills.

The blade is a single-item stack and appears in the Combat category of the Creative inventory.

What It Adds

• Hells Blade — a sword for melee combat.
• Flaming projectile — launched by using the blade and rendered as a fireball.
• Slowness and fire effects — applied when the blade strikes mobs.
• Bonus experience — awarded when a player kills a mob with a melee hit.

How To Use

Melee attacks

Hold Hells Blade and attack a mob:

• The mob receives Slowness II for 5 seconds.
• The mob burns for at least 5 seconds.
• If the hit kills the mob, the attacking player receives 66 experience points.

The slowing and burning melee effects apply to mobs, rather than every type of living entity.

Fireball attack

Use Hells Blade while holding it to throw a flaming projectile in your line of sight.

• It travels in the direction you are looking.
• It deals 66 damage when it hits an entity.
• Living targets are set on fire for at least 5 seconds.
• It disappears after hitting an entity or block.
• A block impact produces a brief burst of flame particles.
• The ability has a cooldown of approximately 6 seconds.
• It does not require separate ammunition.

Progression And Strategy

• Use melee attacks against groups of ordinary mobs to keep them slowed while they burn.
• Aim the fireball at dangerous targets before they reach you.
• Use the fireball to open a fight, then finish weakened mobs with melee attacks for the experience reward.
• Keep distance from enemies while waiting for the projectile cooldown.
• Against fast mobs, apply the melee slow first, then reposition and attack again when safe.
