Description
A loyal guardian mob that hunts down and eliminates hostile creatures for you.
Mod Wiki
Heen
Quickstart
- Open your inventory's Creative items and find the Heen Spawn Egg.
- Use the egg on grass, dirt, coarse dirt, podzol, or moss blocks to spawn a Heen.
- Keep some Torchflower Seeds on hand — they tame Heen's attention, heal it, and let you breed it.
- Stand back and let Heen do its job: it will automatically hunt down nearby hostile mobs and fight them for you.
- Heen can also spawn naturally in bright overworld areas, so you may stumble across one while exploring.
Overview
Heen is a loyal guardian creature that patrols the overworld and actively hunts down monsters to protect you. It behaves much like a curious, sniffing companion — wandering, digging, and reacting to its surroundings — but its true purpose is combat: seeking out hostile creatures and eliminating them before they reach you.
What It Adds
- Heen — a large, friendly guardian mob that attacks nearby monsters on sight.
- Heen Spawn Egg — used to summon Heen directly in Creative or command-enabled worlds.
- Natural spawning of Heen in overworld grassy/dirt/mossy areas during bright daylight conditions.
- Breeding, feeding, and baby-growth mechanics for raising more Heen companions.
- Loot drops when a Heen is defeated.
How To Use
- Spawning: Use the Heen Spawn Egg on a valid surface block, or find one spawning naturally outdoors in well-lit overworld biomes.
- Interacting: Right-click (or tap) Heen to interact with it — feeding it Torchflower Seeds heals it and can be used to tame its trust over time.
- Leashing: Heen can be leashed and led around like other large mobs.
- Combat behavior: Heen automatically searches for and attacks nearby hostile mobs (anything in the "monster" family) within a wide radius, without needing any commands from you. It will chase, engage in melee combat, and deal solid damage to threats.
- Panic response: If hurt, Heen will flee briefly before resuming its patrol.
- Baby Heen: Young Heen are smaller and grow into adults over time if fed Torchflower Seeds.
Crafting And Obtaining
Heen is not crafted with a recipe — it is obtained by:
- Using the Heen Spawn Egg from the Creative inventory, or
- Encountering one that spawns naturally outdoors on grass, dirt, coarse dirt, podzol, or moss in daylight-level brightness.
Defeating a Heen can drop:
- Torchflower Seeds
- Bones (with a chance boosted by Looting)
- Rotten Flesh or Leather
- A rare chance of Emerald drops (increased by Looting)
Abilities And Mechanics
- Health: Heen has a hearty pool of health, making it a durable protector.
- Attack: Deals solid melee damage to hostile targets, tracking and pursuing them across a wide radius.
- Targeting: Automatically seeks out any hostile "monster"-type creature within sight and range — no need to direct it manually.
- Feeding & Healing: Torchflower Seeds heal Heen and encourage it to follow you.
- Breeding: Two adult Heen fed Torchflower Seeds can breed, producing a baby Heen that grows into an adult over time.
- Movement: Heen can walk, climb, swim (avoiding deep water when possible), and jump over obstacles.
- Environmental hazards: Lava will hurt Heen, so keep it away from dangerous terrain.
- Temperament: Heen periodically sniffs, digs, and shows idle "happy" behaviors when undisturbed, giving it a lively, alive presence even when not fighting.
Progression And Strategy
- Raise multiple Heen by breeding them with Torchflower Seeds to build a small guardian squad for your base or farms.
- Use Heen's large detection radius to protect valuable areas — position one near entrances or farms to intercept hostile mobs before they reach you.
- Keep Heen fed and away from lava or hazardous terrain to maximize its lifespan as a long-term companion.
- Because Heen doesn't discriminate targets beyond "hostile," it's especially useful in mob-heavy biomes or during night-time defense.
