Quickstart

1. On your first spawn, look for the Haunted Journal in your inventory.
2. Use the journal and choose Start / Continue Hunt.
3. Defeat the three nearby enemies—the Hollow, a skeleton, and a spider—within 3 minutes.
4. Complete the hunt to receive 1 golden apple, 4 emeralds, and 15 reputation.

Prepare with armor, a weapon, and food before starting: the enemies are strengthened, and the timer begins as soon as the hunt starts.

Overview

The Haunted Journal gives you timed hunts with rewards for success. Your reputation starts at 50 out of 100 and is shown on the action bar. Hunts can be abandoned without a penalty, but running out of time or dying during a hunt costs reputation.

What It Adds

• Haunted Journal: Opens your hunt menu and displays your current objective.
• The Hollow: A custom undead enemy that can climb and break doors. It has 28 health and deals 5 damage per hit.
• Haunted hunts: Each hunt sends three strengthened enemies after you: the Hollow, a skeleton, and a spider.
• A world curse and final boss: At zero reputation, a powerful Hollow boss awakens. Defeating it lifts the curse for the world.

The Hollow may drop rotten flesh. It has a small chance to drop an iron ingot, carrot, or potato.

How To Use

Use the Haunted Journal to open its menu. While a hunt is active, choose Start / Continue Hunt to check your progress. The action bar also shows your defeated count, remaining time, and reputation.

Choose Abandon Without Penalty to end an active hunt safely; its contract enemies are removed. Abandoning does not reduce reputation.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Successful hunt: Defeat all three enemies before the timer expires to gain 15 reputation, one golden apple, and four emeralds. Reputation cannot exceed 100.
• Failed hunt: If time runs out or you die during the hunt, it ends and you lose 20 reputation. A death also brings a brief curse of blindness, weakness, slowness, and nausea.
• Cursed anomalies: Failure can bring fast, sometimes invisible creatures and eerie portal-like particles around you.
• Final boss: When reputation reaches zero, the boss appears. Defeat it to lift the curse; the player who wins reaches 100 reputation.

Progression And Strategy

Keep your reputation above zero by completing hunts, and prepare before starting each one. The three enemies appear around where you use the journal, so stay alert and watch the timer. If a hunt goes badly, abandon it rather than risk a failed hunt and its reputation loss.
