Mod Wiki
Gurange Frostwilds
Quickstart
- Find the naturally generating Gurange Woodlands biome. With commands enabled, use:
/locate biome gurange-frostwilds-fopp7ifx:gurange_woodlands - Explore the biome and collect Gurange Grass, Gurange Logs, Gurange Leaves, and Dirty Melting Ice.
- Watch your step around Venus Flytraps. Touching one deals damage about once per second.
- Fight a Stiltstalker for Ender Pearls, or use a Stiltstalker Spawn Egg from the Creative inventory.
- Craft a Melting Watch Sigil, then use it. The sigil creates a Melting Watch encounter seven blocks in the direction you are facing and summons a Stiltstalker.
- Use Vulture Spawn Eggs to place neutral Gurange Vultures for a woodland display or build.
Overview
Gurange Frostwilds adds the Gurange Woodlands, a distinctive Overworld biome filled with dark grassland, unusual trees, melting-ice spikes, Venus Flytraps, hostile Stiltstalkers, and neutral Gurange Vultures.
The biome is both a source of building materials and a dangerous hunting ground. Stiltstalkers are fast melee enemies that drop Ender Pearls, while zombies remain active in daylight instead of burning under the sun.

| Melting Watch Sigil | A reusable encounter tool in Creative mode that creates a Melting Watch and summons a Stiltstalker. |
How To Use
Exploring the Gurange Woodlands
Search the Overworld for the Gurange Woodlands. Its terrain is marked by:
- Gurange Grass covering the ground
- Tall Gurange Logs with broad Gurange Leaf canopies
- Columns and spikes of Dirty Melting Ice
- Venus Flytraps scattered across suitable ground
- Stiltstalkers and Gurange Vultures among the woodland terrain
The biome’s custom blocks can also be collected and placed in other locations for building.
Venus Flytraps
Venus Flytraps have no solid collision, but living entities are still harmed when they touch one. Contact deals 2 health points, or 1 heart, approximately once per second while the entity remains on the plant.
They can be placed on:
- Gurange Grass
- Grass Blocks
- Dirt
- Coarse Dirt
Clear them from paths and combat areas, or use them to create defensive hazards around a build.
The Melting Watch
A Melting Watch is a small encounter site made from Gurange materials. Its layout includes an icy outer border, Gurange Grass, Gurange Log pillars, ice spikes, and a polished blackstone center. A Stiltstalker appears at the center when the encounter is created.
The watch can be encountered in the Woodlands or created manually with a Melting Watch Sigil.
Crafting And Obtaining
Gurange Grass, Dirty Melting Ice, Gurange Logs, Gurange Leaves, and Venus Flytraps can be obtained by breaking their blocks. The custom blocks are also available in the Creative inventory:
- Gurange Grass, Dirty Melting Ice, Gurange Logs, and Gurange Leaves are in Building Blocks.
- Venus Flytraps are in Natural Blocks.
- Stiltstalker and Vulture Spawn Eggs are in Spawn Eggs.
- Melting Watch Sigils are in Tools.
Melting Watch Sigil
The sigil requires Gurange Logs, Dirty Melting Ice, Polished Blackstone, and an Ender Pearl.

Stiltstalkers are the main source of Ender Pearls for this recipe. Each defeated Stiltstalker drops 12 Ender Pearls.
Abilities And Mechanics
Stiltstalker
Stiltstalkers are hostile monsters with long legs and a direct melee attack.
- Health: 26 points
- Attack damage: 6 points
- Behavior: Pursues players and other living creatures
- Movement: Fast enough to pressure players in open terrain
- Knockback resistance: Moderate
- Drops: 12 Ender Pearls
- Experience: 12 points when defeated for mob experience
Stiltstalkers spawn on the ground in dark conditions. Keep terrain clear when fighting them, and use ranged weapons, elevation, or obstacles to control their approach.
Gurange Vultures
Gurange Vultures are neutral, passive woodland creatures. They use chicken-like behavior and do not actively hunt players. Spawn them with a Vulture Spawn Egg or find them while exploring the Woodlands.
Sun-Proof Zombies
Zombies do not burn in direct daylight. Sunlight will not set them on fire, even when the sky is visible above them, so daytime does not automatically make areas safe from zombie attacks.
Melting Watch Sigil
Hold the sigil and use it to activate it:
- The watch is centered on the highest surface approximately seven blocks ahead of you.
- You do not need to click a specific block.
- The created site occupies an area roughly 11 blocks wide and long.
- A Stiltstalker is summoned at the center.
- The sigil has a cooldown of about 2 seconds.
- In Survival, one sigil is consumed per use.
- In Creative mode, the sigil is not consumed.
Choose an open area before activating it, since the watch places its blocks across the surrounding surface.
Progression And Strategy
- Scout the Woodlands carefully. Venus Flytraps can be difficult to notice during combat, and Stiltstalkers are dangerous in open ground.
- Gather biome materials. Collect Gurange Logs and Dirty Melting Ice for construction and sigil crafting.
- Hunt Stiltstalkers. Their Ender Pearl drops make it easy to gather the key ingredient for more sigils.
- Prepare an arena. Use ranged attacks, walls, or height to fight Stiltstalkers while avoiding plants and ice spikes.
- Activate a Melting Watch. Use the sigil in a cleared area to create a compact challenge site and summon another Stiltstalker.
- Treat daylight as temporary relief only. Zombies remain dangerous during the day, so light and shelter are still important.
