Golden Minigun

Quickstart

1. Open your crafting table and craft the Golden Minigun using the recipe below.
2. Place it in your hotbar and hold it in your hand.
3. Hold right-click to open fire — bullets spray continuously as long as you hold the button.
4. Aim at mobs or players and watch the gold nugget projectiles fly!

Overview

The Golden Minigun is a rapid-fire ranged weapon that pelts targets with a stream of gold nugget projectiles. It fires 10 rounds per second, deals 4 damage (2 hearts) per hit, and comes with a unique firing sound and a permanent golden enchantment glint. With 500 durability, it can sustain long engagements before wearing out.

What It Adds

• Gold Nugget Projectiles — visible flying bullets that disappear on impact with a block or entity.
• Custom Firing Sound — a distinct audio effect plays with each shot, with slight pitch variation for a lively feel.
• Enchantment Glint — the item always shimmers with a golden glow in your inventory and hand.

How To Use

• Hold Right-Click to continuously fire. Bullets launch from eye level in the direction you are looking.
• Release Right-Click to stop firing.
• Each bullet travels fast and deals 4 damage on contact with a living entity, then disappears.
• Bullets also disappear upon hitting a block, so there is no ricochet or penetration.
• The minigun takes durability damage with use; keep an eye on it and repair it with an anvil using gold ingots, or use the Mending enchantment if available.

Crafting And Obtaining

The recipe is unlocked automatically when you join a world — no prerequisites required.

The minigun requires 7 Gold Ingots, a Crossbow, and 1 Redstone. Gather these materials and head to a crafting table to build it.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Rapid Fire: Fires every 2 game ticks (10 bullets per second), making it one of the fastest ranged weapons available.
• Consistent Damage: Every bullet deals exactly 4 damage regardless of distance or armor (armor still reduces damage normally).
• No Ammunition: The Golden Minigun does not consume arrows or any other ammo — only durability.
• Durability: 500 uses worth of firing before the item breaks. Enchanting with Unbreaking or Mending will extend its lifespan significantly.
• Piglin-Friendly: Piglins recognise the Golden Minigun as a gold item and will not attack you while you are holding it.
• Glint: The item always displays the enchantment glint effect, giving it a premium appearance even without enchantments.

Progression And Strategy

• Early Game: The Golden Minigun requires a crossbow, which itself needs iron and string, making this a mid-game unlock. Stockpiling gold and crafting it before a major fight pays off quickly.
• Mob Farming: The high fire rate tears through groups of mobs in seconds. Position yourself at range and hold right-click to suppress large numbers of enemies.
• Durability Management: At 10 shots per second, 500 durability lasts about 50 seconds of continuous fire. Burst-fire instead of holding down the button to conserve durability.
• Enchanting: Prioritise Unbreaking III and Mending to make the minigun a permanent part of your arsenal. Mending in particular synergises well since you earn XP while fighting.
• Piglin Bartering: Holding the minigun pacifies Piglins, letting you safely navigate Piglin-occupied areas of the Nether while keeping your weapon ready.
