Glowseer Pickaxe

Quickstart

1. Craft the Glowseer Pickaxe using the recipe below (the recipe is also automatically unlocked for you).
2. Hold it in either your main hand or off-hand.
3. Start mining — as long as you're holding it, you'll glow with the Glowing effect so you're easy to spot in the dark (or by other players).

Overview

The Glowseer Pickaxe is a single powerful tool that combines top-tier mining performance with a built-in light-tracking gimmick: it makes you glow while you hold it. It behaves like any other pickaxe for digging and mining, but constantly applies a Glowing outline effect to you as a side effect of carrying it.

What It Adds

• Glowseer Pickaxe — a netherite-tier pickaxe with a glowing gimmick.

How To Use

• Craft the pickaxe using diamonds, glowstone dust, and sticks.
• Equip it in your main hand or off-hand — the glowing effect works from either slot.
• Mine blocks as normal; it counts as a pickaxe for all vanilla mining purposes (breaking stone, ore, and other pickaxe-mineable blocks).
• While it's held, you continuously receive the Glowing status effect, outlining your character so you're visible even in dark areas or through walls (to other players who can see the glow outline).
• The moment you stop holding it (switch it out of your hand and off-hand), the glow effect fades shortly after, since it's only refreshed while equipped.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Glowseer Pickaxe with 3 diamonds, glowstone dust, and sticks arranged like a standard pickaxe:

The recipe is automatically unlocked in your recipe book when you join the world, so you don't need to discover it first.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Mining performance: Uses netherite-level mining speed and durability, making it one of the best pickaxes available for breaking blocks quickly.
• Durability: Very high durability, allowing extensive mining before it wears out.
• Stack size: Only one can be held in a slot at a time (it does not stack).
• Glowing aura: Automatically and continuously applies the Glowing effect to you while the pickaxe is in your main hand or off-hand. This is passive and requires no activation — simply holding the item is enough.
• Combat: Can be used as a weapon in a pinch, though it swings slowly and deals modest damage, as expected from a pickaxe.

Progression And Strategy

Because it grants unlimited Glowing while held, the Glowseer Pickaxe is useful for:

• Mining in caves or at night while staying easy to see for teammates.
• Signaling your location to other players in multiplayer.
• Combining excellent mining speed with a fun visual effect, without needing to drink Glowing potions or use spectral arrows.

Keep it in your inventory as your primary mining tool if you want the glow effect active whenever you're digging, and swap it out when you want to move around unseen.
