Quickstart

1. Head to an Ice Spikes biome — Glacier Penguins spawn naturally there in flocks of 3 to 6.
2. If you don't want to wait, grab a Glacier Penguin Spawn Egg from the Spawn Eggs tab in Creative Mode inventory and use it on the ground to spawn one instantly.
3. Watch them waddle around — and if they end up on ice or snow, watch them slide!
4. They are completely passive and pose no threat, so feel free to approach, watch, or build a glacial habitat around them.

Overview

Glacier Penguins are a small, passive flock mob that lives in icy environments. They bring life to Ice Spikes biomes, wandering in groups and sliding across frozen surfaces just like real penguins. They don't fight, don't explode, and won't attack the player — they're purely for atmosphere and observation.

• Glacier Penguin — a passive creature found in Ice Spikes biomes.
• Glacier Penguin Spawn Egg — lets you spawn a Glacier Penguin anywhere, found in the Spawn Eggs creative tab.

How To Use

• Finding them naturally: Explore Ice Spikes biomes. Penguins spawn on top of snow blocks, ice, packed ice, or blue ice, appearing in flocks of 3–6 at a time.
• Spawning manually: Use the Glacier Penguin Spawn Egg on any block to place a penguin directly into the world.
• Observing behavior: Penguins wander freely, look around, and will glance at nearby players. When frightened (such as by an attack), they'll panic and flee quickly.
• Sliding: Whenever a penguin stands or walks on ice or snow, it picks up extra momentum and slides — including bursts of movement even while just standing still on ice, mimicking a penguin sliding on its belly.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Passive and harmless: Glacier Penguins never attack and cannot be provoked into hostility.
• Ice sliding: On ice (regular, packed, blue, or frosted) or snow blocks, penguins gain a speed boost in their direction of travel. If idle on ice, they will occasionally slide off in a random direction on their own.
• Flocking spawn: They spawn in groups rather than alone, so finding one usually means several nearby.
• Sturdy but fragile in falls: They have modest health and a limited safe fall distance, so they can take fall damage from high drops despite their sliding antics.

Progression And Strategy

There's no crafting or combat progression tied to Glacier Penguins — they're a decorative and ambient addition to icy biomes. Use them to bring Ice Spikes areas to life, gather a flock near a base for scenery, or simply enjoy watching them slide across frozen ground while exploring frigid terrain.
