Quickstart

1. Craft the Glacial Quakeblade using the recipe below.
2. Equip it in your main hand.
3. Attack an enemy to summon icy spikes around them.
4. Sneak (crouch) and swing to slam the ground and freeze the earth beneath your feet.
5. Watch your damage output—this blade hits far harder than a normal sword.

Overview

The Glacial Quakeblade is a powerful frost-themed sword that combines heavy melee damage with area-of-effect ice magic. Every strike can conjure jagged ice spikes around your target, and a crouching strike unleashes a ground-freezing shockwave that damages and knocks nearby enemies into the air. It behaves as a sword for enchanting and combat purposes, but its true strength lies in its two special icy effects.

What It Adds

• Glacial Quakeblade – a one-handed sword-type weapon with a faint magical glint, dealing significantly more damage than a standard sword but swinging more slowly.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Glacial Quakeblade using diamonds, packed ice, and blue ice on a crafting table.

Only one Glacial Quakeblade can be carried in a stack at a time, reflecting its status as a rare, powerful weapon.

Abilities And Mechanics

Ice Spike Strike Whenever you hit a living target with the Glacial Quakeblade, jagged packed ice spikes erupt randomly around the target in a radius of roughly 3–5 blocks. Spikes vary in height and can catch nearby enemies in rough terrain, blocking movement or lines of sight.

Ground Freeze Slam Sneak and attack with the Glacial Quakeblade to trigger a ground-freezing shockwave centered on you:

• Solid ground within a 10-block radius transforms into blue ice, making the area slippery.
• Living entities within 8 blocks are launched upward slightly and take magic damage.
• This ability has a cooldown of about 3 seconds before it can be triggered again.

Heavy Damage, Slower Swing The blade deals much higher damage than a typical sword, but swings slightly slower, making it best suited for deliberate, punishing strikes rather than rapid combos.

Progression And Strategy

• Use the Ice Spike Strike in open combat to hinder enemy movement and control the battlefield around your target.
• Save the Ground Freeze Slam for groups of enemies—its area damage and knockup effect can disrupt several foes at once, especially when you're surrounded.
• Because of its slow swing speed, time your attacks carefully rather than button-mashing; each hit counts.
• The blue ice created by the ground freeze remains after the fight, so watch your footing—it's slippery and can send you sliding off cliffs or into hazards.
