Glacial Core Fracture

Quickstart

1. Craft the Glacial Core Fracture using the recipe below and pull it from your inventory (it also appears in the Combat creative tab).
2. Hold it in your main hand — you immediately gain Dolphin's Grace and Conduit Power, letting you breathe and swim freely underwater.
3. Right-click to launch your first Frostbite Spike and watch ice eruptions tear across the ground.

Overview

The Glacial Core Fracture is a Netherite-tier ice sword with three powerful context-sensitive abilities. Simply holding it transforms you into an underwater predator — immune to Slowness and freezing damage, surrounded by drifting snowflake particles. In combat it offers a layered toolkit of crowd-control abilities, each on its own independent cooldown so you can chain them freely without one blocking another.

Abilities And Mechanics

Passive Effects (while held)

Active Abilities

All three abilities use right-click with different movement modifiers. Each has its own independent cooldown timer. If you attempt an ability while it is still cooling down, a message appears showing the exact remaining cooldown time.

Frostbite Spike — Right-click

A wave of ice spikes erupts along the ground ahead of you, freezing any mob caught in the path and dealing 12 frost damage.

• Cooldown: 8 seconds

Blizzard Dash — Sneak + Right-click

You teleport 10 blocks forward in the direction you are facing. Mobs near your destination are instantly encased in ice.

• Cooldown: 12 seconds

Absolute Zero — Sprint + Right-click

A massive 30-block radius flash-freeze detonates around you. Water in the area converts to packed ice, all nearby enemies are trapped and blinded, and each takes 20 frost damage.

• Cooldown: 45 seconds

How To Use

• Hold the sword at all times when swimming or exploring underwater — the passive buffs only apply while it is in your hand.
• In a fight, open with Frostbite Spike (right-click) to chip down enemies and freeze stragglers, then close the gap with Blizzard Dash (sneak + right-click) to lock targets in place.
• Save Absolute Zero (sprint + right-click) for large groups or emergencies — its long cooldown means timing matters.
• Because cooldowns are independent, you can use Frostbite Spike and Blizzard Dash back-to-back without waiting for either to reset before triggering the other.

The Glacial Core Fracture is crafted at a crafting table. The recipe is unlocked automatically when you join a world.

Progression And Strategy

• The sword's Netherite-tier stats make it a strong all-purpose melee weapon on its own.
• Its underwater passives make it the ideal weapon of choice for ocean monuments, underwater ruins, and any aquatic biome exploration — no armour enchantments needed for breathing.
• For boss encounters or mob farms, lead with Absolute Zero to freeze the entire room, then clean up with Frostbite Spike while enemies are still trapped.
• The 45-second Absolute Zero cooldown is the main pacing factor — plan engagements around its availability for maximum impact.
