Gibbon

Quickstart

1. In Creative, find the Gibbon spawn egg in the Spawn Eggs tab and use it on the ground near a tree.
2. Watch it wander and climb a nearby trunk made of connected log blocks.
3. Hold Shift and right-click the gibbon to play its idle state again after trying its actions.

You can also use /give @s gibbon-k5uhgnfx:gibbon_k5uhgnfx_spawn_egg for an egg, or /summon gibbon-k5uhgnfx:gibbon_k5uhgnfx ~ ~ ~ to spawn a gibbon directly.

Overview

Gibbon adds a two-legged gibbon that strolls around, looks at nearby players, and climbs nearby trees on its own.

What It Adds

• One gibbon mob.
• A Gibbon spawn egg, available in Creative mode.
• Walking, idle, attack, and climbing animations.

How To Use

Use the spawn egg on a block to place a gibbon. With an empty hand, right-click it to cycle through its attack and climb animations. Hold Shift while right-clicking to stop the current action.

Abilities And Mechanics

Gibbons seek out nearby connected log trunks and climb them without player direction. For a good first test, spawn one beside a tree with a vertical trunk. The gibbon wanders when it is not climbing.

The attack and climb actions available through interaction are animations; they do not direct the gibbon’s autonomous tree climbing.
