Quickstart

1. Craft the Gale Wind Katana at a crafting table:

1. Hold it in your main hand — you immediately gain Speed I and will notice swirling wind and cherry blossom particles around you.
2. Right-click to lunge forward with Wind Slash Dash and slice through any enemies in your path.
3. Try Shift + Right-click to rocket upward with Cyclone Vault, then float down safely.
4. When you're ready for a big fight, Sprint + Shift + Right-click to unleash Blade Torrent and blink through up to five nearby enemies at once.

Overview

The Gale Wind Katana is a wind-themed diamond-tier sword built around speed and mobility. Beyond being a strong melee weapon, it comes with three independent combat abilities that let you dash, leap, and teleport through groups of enemies. Each ability has its own cooldown, so you can chain them freely without one blocking another.

Abilities And Mechanics

Passive — Wind Aura

While the Katana is held in your main hand, you permanently receive Speed I and gain increased sprint-jump distance. The effect refreshes continuously so it never runs out as long as you're holding the sword. Swirling wind and cherry blossom particles surround you as a visual indicator.

Wind Slash Dash (Right-click)

• Lunges you forward 8 blocks.
• Deals 8 damage to any mobs caught along the dash path.
• Cooldown: 6 seconds.

Use this for quick gap-closing or to burst through a cluster of enemies.

Cyclone Vault (Shift + Right-click)

• Launches you high into the air.
• Applies Slow Falling so you land safely without fall damage.
• Cooldown: 10 seconds.

Great for escaping melee range, reaching elevated terrain, or resetting a fight from above.

Blade Torrent (Sprint + Shift + Right-click) — Ultimate

• Instantly teleports you to up to 5 nearby enemies within 12 blocks, striking each for 10 damage.
• After all strikes are complete, you are snapped back to your original position.
• Cooldown: 45 seconds.

This is your highest-damage burst option. Because you return to your starting position, it's especially safe to use — you can wipe out a group and reappear exactly where you were standing.

Progression And Strategy

• Independent cooldowns mean you can use all three abilities in the same engagement without penalty. A typical combo: Blade Torrent to hit multiple targets → Wind Slash Dash to chase a survivor → Cyclone Vault to disengage if you take damage.
• The passive Speed I is always active while holding the sword, making it worth equipping even when you don't intend to fight, for faster overworld travel.
• Blade Torrent's 45-second cooldown is long, so save it for high-priority targets like bosses or large mob groups rather than wasting it on single enemies.
• Cyclone Vault pairs well with bows or ranged weapons — vault upward, then switch to a ranged weapon while descending under Slow Falling to pick off targets below.
