Quickstart

1. Find a Furby – Furbies spawn naturally across the Overworld and more commonly in the Furby Grove biome. Use a crafted Furby Grove Teleporter to jump straight to the nearest grove.
2. Craft Furby Snacks – You need a FurbyPlum (found in or near Furby Groves), an apple, and sugar.
3. Tame – Hold a Furby Snack and right-click a wild Furby to tame it.
4. Care menu – Right-click your tamed Furby to open its care menu and issue commands: Follow, Wander, Play, Dance, or Sing.
5. Collect drops – Furby Fur and Furby Bones let you craft two full armor sets.

Overview

Furby adds 144 variants of adorable, 2D pixel-art Furbies to Minecraft. They roam the Overworld, cluster in special Furby Grove biomes, live inside glowing tree homes, and form colonies with distinct roles and personalities. Furbies communicate exclusively through a gentle owl/dove-style coo — babies coo at a tinier, softer pitch. Every standard animal sound is suppressed, so the soundscape stays exclusively soothing.

Furby Villagers are a special variant that uses full vanilla villager AI and trading, appearing more often to spread variant distribution throughout the world.

Furby Grove – A revamped overworld biome featuring mossy and rooted-dirt ground, colorful wildflowers, ShimmerWood trees with glowing interiors, and high Furby density.

How To Use

Taming

Hold a Furby Snack and right-click a wild Furby. Success is not guaranteed; keep trying. Once tamed, hearts appear and the Furby becomes yours.

Care Menu

Right-click any tamed Furby to open its care menu. Available commands:

Teaching Phrases

You can teach your Furby custom phrases through interaction — they will display learned phrases in-world.

Gifts

Tamed Furbies occasionally give you small gifts.

Furby Grove Teleporter

Craft the teleporter and right-click to instantly warp to the nearest Furby Grove biome. There is a short cooldown after each use.

Abilities And Mechanics

Colony System

Furbies are not just individuals — they form colonies with assigned roles and personalities.

Roles: Forager, Digger, Guard, Caretaker, Scout, Royal Leader

Personalities: Curious, Shy, Bold, Greedy, Helpful, Mischievous, Lazy, Hyperactive, Food-Obsessed, Baby-Obsessed, Player-Obsessed

• Guards and Royal Leaders will defend nearby Furbies from attackers.
• When a Furby is harmed, nearby colony members are alerted and react based on their role and personality.
• When you feed a Furby, nearby Furbies mark you as colony-family.
• Furbies share memory of dangers, friendly players, and points of interest across a wide radius.

Dance & Sing Animations

Furbies break into dancing and singing animations on command or while eating. These are purely expressive and part of the social experience.

Sound Design

Furbies use only a custom gentle coo sound. Babies coo at a smaller, quieter pitch. All standard passive mob sounds are suppressed — Furbies will never make parrot, bat, rabbit, or villager sounds.

Progression And Strategy

1. Early game – Explore until you find FurbyPlums in a grove or the wild. Craft your first Furby Snack and tame a Furby companion.
2. Furby Grove – Craft the Furby Grove Teleporter as soon as you have grass blocks and use it to reach the nearest grove quickly. Groves have dense Furby populations, ShimmerWood trees, and Furby Villagers to trade with.
3. Collecting variants – With 144 variants, interacting with Furby Villagers is the fastest way to encounter diverse variants, since they appear more frequently and distribute variant types.
4. Armor crafting – Farm Furby Fur for a light protective set early, then work toward Furby Bone armor for diamond-tier protection with toughness.
5. Breeding – Feed two Furbies fruit to breed them. Wild Furbies have a ~20-minute cooldown and Furby Villagers ~40 minutes, with roughly 50% success per attempt producing one baby. The biome soft-caps at about 35 Furbies, so manage your colony size thoughtfully.
6. Colony defense – Position Guard- and Royal Leader-role Furbies strategically. They will intercept attackers automatically, protecting the rest of your colony.
