Quickstart

1. Craft the Frozen Netherite Blade using the recipe below.
2. Hold it in your main hand or off-hand.
3. Press and hold the sneak key while holding the blade to unleash an icy ground-shattering eruption around you.
4. Attack normally to deal heavy melee damage as a powerful sword.

Overview

The Frozen Netherite Blade is a one-of-a-kind sword that combines devastating melee power with a freezing area-of-effect burst. Beyond its sharp netherite edge, sneaking with the blade in hand triggers a chilling eruption that damages and launches nearby enemies while shaking the ground beneath everyone close by.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Frozen Netherite Blade with a diamond, a netherite ingot, and a block of blue ice:

You can also find it pre-sorted into the Combat tab of the creative inventory.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Heavy Strikes: The blade hits much harder than a normal sword, at the cost of a slower swing speed — a true heavy-hitting weapon for taking down tough foes.
• Icy Eruption: While holding the blade in either hand, sneaking triggers a freezing eruption:
  • Rings of snow and cloud particles burst outward from your position, followed by a shattering explosion effect at your feet.
  • Freezing sound effects play as the ground "shatters" with cold.
  • All nearby living entities within roughly 5 blocks take freezing damage and are launched slightly upward.
  • Nearby players (including yourself) get a small upward push, simulating the ground shaking beneath them.
• Cooldown: After triggering the eruption, the blade needs a couple of seconds to recharge before it can be used again — keep this in mind when timing your attacks in a fight.

Progression And Strategy

Use the Frozen Netherite Blade as both a heavy melee weapon and a crowd-control tool. Sneak near a cluster of enemies to freeze and launch them into the air, buying yourself space or setting up follow-up attacks. Because the eruption also lightly bumps nearby players, be mindful of using it near allies in tight quarters. Watch the cooldown timing so you can chain the icy burst with your slower but harder-hitting sword swings for maximum damage output.
