Frostbound Tundra

Quickstart

1. Find the biome. In a world with commands enabled, use:

   /locate biome frostbound-tundra-oeiuo7f2:frostbound_tundra
   

   The Frostbound Tundra generates in the Overworld.
2. Explore its landmarks. Look for Rime Stone ice spires, Frost Soil patches, and Frostbloom plants.
3. Prepare for hostile mobs. Cold Creepers and Frostbound Husks can spawn naturally in the biome.
4. Collect materials. Break Frost Soil, Rime Stone, and Frostbloom, and defeat the tundra monsters for Frost Shards and Frozen Hearts.
5. Try the recipes. Craft Frost Shards from ice and snowballs, then use them to make Frozen Hearts.
6. Test the biome location at any time with:

   /frostbound status
   

   You will be told whether you are currently inside the Frostbound Tundra.

For a quick Creative-mode test, find the mod’s blocks in the Building Blocks tab, materials in Ingredients, and both spawn eggs in Spawn Eggs. Right-click to place blocks or use a spawn egg on a block.

Overview

Frostbound Tundra is a harsh, cold Overworld biome filled with icy landmarks, unusual plants, and hostile monsters. Its terrain features scattered Frost Soil patches, Frostbloom growths, and Rime Stone ice spires.

The biome also contains normal caves and canyons, so underground exploration remains possible—but hostile tundra creatures make the surface dangerous.

Hostile Mobs

Both mobs naturally spawn in the Frostbound Tundra. Cold Creepers spawn in groups of 1–2, while Frostbound Husks spawn in groups of 1–3.

How To Use

Exploring the Tundra

Search the Overworld for the Frostbound Tundra, or use the /locate biome command when cheats are enabled. Rime Stone spires are visible landmarks that can help identify the biome from a distance.

Use /frostbound status to check your current biome:

• Inside the biome: “The air bites: you are in the Frostbound Tundra.”
• Elsewhere: “You are outside the Frostbound Tundra.”

Placing and Collecting Blocks

• Place Frost Soil and Rime Stone like ordinary building blocks.
• Break Frost Soil to collect Frost Soil.
• Break Rime Stone to collect Rime Stone.
• Break Frostbloom to collect Frostbloom.
• Use Frost Soil for frozen landscaping or animal-friendly terrain.

Spawning the Monsters

In Creative mode, use the Cold Creeper Spawn Egg or Frostbound Husk Spawn Egg on a block to spawn the corresponding mob.

With commands enabled, you can also use:

/give @s frostbound-tundra-oeiuo7f2:cold_creeper_spawn_egg
/give @s frostbound-tundra-oeiuo7f2:frostbound_husk_spawn_egg

To summon the mobs directly:

/summon frostbound-tundra-oeiuo7f2:cold_creeper
/summon frostbound-tundra-oeiuo7f2:frostbound_husk

Treat the Cold Creeper as a creeper-style explosive threat and keep distance when fighting it. The Frostbound Husk is a close-range zombie-style enemy.

Crafting And Obtaining

Frost Shard

Craft four Frost Shards with four ice blocks and one snowball:

Cold Creepers also drop 1–2 Frost Shards when defeated.

Frost Soil

Frost Soil is crafted shapelessly from dirt and a snowball:

It can also be collected from naturally generated Frost Soil patches.

Frozen Heart

Craft a Frozen Heart with four Frost Shards surrounding one block of blue ice:

Frostbound Husks drop Frozen Hearts, with Looting offering a chance to increase the drop.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Biome generation: The Frostbound Tundra is an Overworld biome with cold, wet conditions and its own atmosphere.
• Ice spires: Rime Stone spires generate across the landscape as natural landmarks.
• Frost Soil patches: Patches of Frost Soil appear on the surface and support animal spawning.
• Frostbloom patches: Frostbloom grows naturally throughout the biome.
• Tundra monsters: Cold Creepers and Frostbound Husks are the biome’s natural hostile spawns.
• Mob drops: Cold Creepers provide Frost Shards, while Frostbound Husks provide Frozen Hearts.
• Creative access: Blocks, materials, and spawn eggs are available in the corresponding vanilla Creative inventory tabs.

Progression And Strategy

1. Start with vanilla ice, snowballs, dirt, and blue ice so you can craft the mod’s materials immediately.
2. Craft Frost Shards before entering dangerous areas; they are also the first step toward making Frozen Hearts.
3. Use Rime Stone spires as navigation points while scouting the biome.
4. Fight Cold Creepers from a safe distance and avoid getting surrounded by Frostbound Husks.
5. Bring extra storage for Frost Soil, Rime Stone, Frostbloom, Frost Shards, and Frozen Hearts.
6. Use the collected blocks to establish a safe outpost in the tundra, then return to the biome for further exploration and mob hunting.
