Mod Wiki
Forge Spire Axe
Quickstart
- Craft the Forge Spire Axe using the recipe below.
- Equip it in your hand and start chopping — it cuts through any type of wood at high speed.
- Add enchantments at an enchanting table or grindstone; it accepts strong enchantments like a top-tier axe.
- Keep gold ingots or diamonds on hand to repair it, since it slowly wears down even while just sitting in your inventory.
Overview
The Forge Spire Axe is a rare, forge-made tool built for woodcutters who want speed and enchanting power in one weapon. It chops all wood-type blocks — logs, wood, and planks of any kind — with equal, high efficiency, and it can also be swung as a decent weapon. Its one drawback is that it has a mind of its own: durability drains away over time just from being carried, so it needs regular upkeep and repair.
What It Adds
- Forge Spire Axe — a single custom tool item with high durability, strong wood-cutting speed, and top-tier enchant compatibility.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft the axe at a crafting table using gold ingots, a diamond, and sticks.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Universal wood cutting — chops logs, wood blocks, and planks of every wood type at greatly increased speed, regardless of the specific wood variant.
- Weapon damage — deals solid melee damage if used to fight, in addition to its cutting power.
- High enchantability — accepts powerful axe enchantments (such as Efficiency, Mending, and other axe-compatible enchants) more readily than an ordinary axe.
- Durability — starts with a large durability pool, but has a chance to lose extra durability on each use, and also slowly loses durability passively just from being held in a player's inventory (including the hotbar), even without using it. Expect roughly one durability point drained every minute per axe you're carrying.
- Repairing — restore durability using gold ingots (small repair) or diamonds (larger repair). Repairing at an anvil or applying the Mending enchantment offsets the passive wear.
Progression And Strategy
Because the axe drains durability over time regardless of use, it isn't meant to be hoarded in a chest indefinitely — plan to actually use it, repair it periodically, or enchant it with Mending to keep it topped off automatically. Carrying spare gold ingots or diamonds is the simplest way to keep it running between adventures. Its combination of wood-cutting speed and high enchant value makes it a strong choice for dedicated lumberjacking or as a hybrid tool-weapon for exploration.
