Description
Flame Aegis adds a craftable defensive shield you carry in your inventory and activate with a right-click to instantly raise a centered 10×10 wall of real fire blocks two blocks in front of you, placed perpendicular to your horizontal facing and accented with flame particles on every block. The wall forms a single instantaneous barrier that keeps you safe from its flames while blocking entrances, controlling mobs, or creating a quick escape; the firewall now sustains itself for an additional 2 seconds by periodically refreshing the placed fire blocks. The ability has a short cooldown and shows action-bar feedback reporting the 10×10 firewall and the +2s sustain for easy timing and reuse.

Quickstart
- Gather a Shield, Blaze Powder (×4), and Iron Ingots (×4) at a crafting table.
- Craft the Flame Aegis:
- Place the Flame Aegis in your hand or off-hand.
- Face a direction, then right-click (use) to instantly raise a blazing 10×10 wall of fire two blocks in front of you.
- Watch your action bar — it confirms the wall size and its 2-second sustain timer so you know when to reuse the item.
Overview
The Flame Aegis is a hand-held defensive tool that lets you conjure a towering wall of real fire blocks on demand. Point yourself at a gap, doorway, corridor, or approaching mob horde, activate the item, and a 10-block-wide by 10-block-tall curtain of fire instantly fills the space directly in front of you. The wall burns independently of you, so you remain unharmed while everything on the other side faces the flames.

How To Use
- Hold the Flame Aegis in your main hand or off-hand.
- Right-click / use to trigger the ability. The fire wall appears 2 blocks in front of you, centered on your position and oriented perpendicular to the direction you are facing.
- The wall is made of real fire blocks and ignites anything flammable it touches. Every block in the wall also emits flame particles for a dramatic visual effect.
- After activation, the wall sustains itself for an extra 2 seconds — the mod periodically refreshes any fire blocks that would otherwise burn out, keeping the barrier alive a little longer.
- Your action bar displays a message confirming the wall dimensions and the +2 s sustain, helping you judge timing for the next use.
- There is a ~1-second cooldown between activations.
Important Notes
- Fire only replaces air or existing fire blocks — solid terrain and structures are not destroyed.
- The wall starts at your feet and extends 10 blocks upward, so it covers most standard encounters.
- You are safe from your own fire wall; position yourself behind it before triggering for best results.

Craft the Flame Aegis at a crafting table once you have a Shield and Blaze Powder:

The wall is placed centered on your position along the lateral axis — 5 blocks to your left and 5 to your right — so you don't need to aim precisely side to side.
Progression And Strategy
Repairing: The Flame Aegis can be repaired on an anvil using Iron Ingots (restores ~20% durability each) or Blaze Powder (restores ~10% durability each).
Tactical tips:
- Use the wall to seal doorways or cave entrances before a fight, funneling mobs through choke points.
- Activate while retreating to put an instant barrier between you and pursuers.
- Layer multiple activations (using the cooldown window) to refresh or expand coverage in open areas.
- Fire spreads to adjacent flammable blocks naturally, so activate near wooden structures with caution.
- In tight corridors the wall may be partially blocked by solid walls; position yourself in open space for the fullest barrier.
