Fission Core Blade

Quickstart

1. Open your inventory — the recipe is unlocked automatically when you join a world.
2. Craft the Fission Core Blade at a crafting table:

1. Hold the blade in your main hand or offhand to immediately gain passive immunity to Poison and Wither effects.
2. Strike any enemy to apply the Meltdown burn, then try Right-clicking to fire a Gamma Ray Burst down range.

Overview

The Fission Core Blade is a radioactive, netherite-tier sword crackling with green energy. It hits hard in melee, passively protects you from two of the most dangerous status effects in the game, and packs three distinct activated abilities — each on its own independent cooldown. Whether you prefer long-range sniping, mobile hit-and-run combat, or massive area detonations, the blade has a tool for every situation.

Abilities And Mechanics

Passive: Status Effect Immunity

While the Fission Core Blade is held in either hand, you are fully immune to Poison and Wither effects. The immunity is active as long as you hold the blade — no activation required.

Passive: Meltdown Burn

Every enemy you hit with a melee strike is inflicted with the Meltdown burn — a glowing damage-over-time effect. Each subsequent hit refreshes the duration, so sustained melee attacks keep the debuff running continuously. The burn stacks with all three activated abilities.

Ability 1 — Gamma Ray Burst (Right-click)

Fire a wide, piercing beam of green energy that travels up to 15 blocks in front of you. Every enemy caught in its path takes damage and is poisoned. Because the beam pierces, it can hit multiple enemies in a line simultaneously.

Ability 2 — Kinetic Overload (Sneak + Right-click)

Hold Sneak and Right-click to launch yourself forward with a burst of momentum, while simultaneously releasing a damaging shockwave that blasts nearby enemies away from you.

Ability 3 — Quantum Meltdown (Sprint + Right-click)

While sprinting, Right-click to charge up and then slam the blade into the ground, detonating a massive explosion of green energy in a 15-block radius. All enemies caught in the blast suffer heavy true damage and are inflicted with Wither.

• Cooldown: 80 seconds

Progression And Strategy

Independent cooldowns are the key mechanic to master. Using Quantum Meltdown does not lock you out of Gamma Ray Burst or Kinetic Overload, so you can chain abilities freely within their individual timers.

• Opening burst: Sprint in, trigger Quantum Meltdown to wipe a group, immediately follow up with Gamma Ray Burst on any surviving stragglers.
• Escape tool: Kinetic Overload doubles as a mobility ability — use it to close distance or escape, while the shockwave punishes anything nearby.
• Passive synergy: Keep the blade in your offhand during exploration to maintain Poison and Wither immunity even when you're not fighting.
• Sustained DPS: Your melee Meltdown burn refreshes with every hit, so fast, continuous strikes maximise damage-over-time uptime between ability cooldowns.
• The blade's netherite-tier durability (2031 uses) and enchantability mean it holds up well into the late game and can be enhanced further with enchantments.
