The Fisher Winecrest Shield is a decorative yet powerful shield bearing the crest of House Fisher, marked with distinctive red wine stains. It functions as a fully featured shield with a unique passive mechanic: the more consistently you block attacks, the more the "vintage" fortifies you, granting temporary Absorption to help you weather even fiercer blows.

How To Use

• Equip the shield in your main hand or off-hand (off-hand is recommended for typical shield play).
• Sneak to raise the shield and block incoming damage from entities and projectiles.
• Successfully blocking hits builds a block streak. Once the streak reaches its threshold, you receive the Absorption effect, giving you extra health buffer.
• When you equip the shield, a message confirms it is ready: "The wine-stained shield of House Fisher is raised."
• When the Absorption triggers, you'll see: "The vintage fortifies you — Absorption granted!" along with a wine-splash particle effect.

Note: The block streak resets if you unequip the shield, so keep it on to maintain your momentum.

Abilities And Mechanics

Wine Fortitude

Every time you successfully block a hit while sneaking, your block streak increments. Once you reach the required number of consecutive blocks:

• You gain Absorption I for 10 seconds (200 ticks).
• A wine-splash particle effect bursts around you.
• The streak resets once you unequip the shield or let it lapse.

Progression And Strategy

• Early game: Craft the shield as soon as you have planks, a banner, and iron. It comes online very quickly and serves as a reliable defensive tool right away.
• Building the streak: Stay in combat and keep sneaking to block. The more aggressive the enemy, the faster you rack up blocks and trigger Absorption.
• Repair: Repair the shield using any wood planks (restores 25% durability) or glass bottles (restores 10% durability) in an anvil.
• Enchanting: The shield accepts standard shield enchantments, so adding Unbreaking or Mending will greatly extend its lifespan in extended fights.
• Off-hand pairing: Keep a sword in your main hand and the shield in your off-hand so you can swing and block freely without swapping.
