Firestorm Blade

Quickstart

Find Callas Fireshard Ore underground in the Overworld and mine it with an iron-tier pickaxe or better to get Raw Fireshard. Smelt or blast the raw material into Fireshard Ingots, then craft the blade with two ingots and a Blaze Rod:

Hold the Firestorm Blade and use it to launch a fireball in the direction you’re looking. Try a melee hit as well: it sets the target on fire. Each launch uses durability, and the blade has a 2-second cooldown between launches.

Overview

Firestorm Blade is a combat gear set built around a sword that launches fireballs, burns targets, and wears down shields. Fireshard Ore and its processed ingots also let you craft a matching set of armor.

What It Adds

• Firestorm Blade: A melee sword that can launch fireballs.
• Callas Fireshard Ore, Raw Fireshard, and Fireshard Ingots: Materials for making the sword and armor.
• Fireshard armor: A helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots.

How To Use

• Launch a fireball: Use the blade while holding it. It flies toward your aim, deals damage to living targets, and sets them on fire for 2 seconds. Launching has a 40-tick cooldown and costs 1 durability.
• Attack in melee: Hit a target with the blade to set it on fire for 3 seconds.
• Wear down shields: While wielding the blade, hit an opponent who is actively blocking and facing you. Each qualifying hit wears down their shield by 3 durability.
• Equip Fireshard armor: Put each piece in its matching armor slot. The pieces provide protection, but have no special fire-related ability.

Crafting And Obtaining

Callas Fireshard Ore generates underground in the Overworld. It is mineable with a pickaxe and requires an iron-tier tool or better; mining it yields Raw Fireshard.

Abilities And Mechanics

The Firestorm Blade’s thrown fireball deals 5 damage to living targets it hits and burns them briefly. The blade has 800 durability. Its melee attacks also ignite targets, so it can apply fire both at range and up close.

Fireshard armor provides the following protection:

A full set totals 20 protection and also provides 2.5 toughness and 0.1 knockback resistance. Fireshard Ingots can be used to repair the armor.

Progression And Strategy

Start by mining ore and processing it into ingots, then make the blade for ranged pressure and close-range fire attacks. Craft armor as you gather more ingots. Against shield users, attack while they’re facing you and blocking to wear down their shield.
