Description
Fire Propulsion Core is a craftable handheld rocket tool (blaze rod + fire charges + redstone block + iron ingot) that grants hands-free, persistent rocket flight with a custom inventory icon. Right-click the core to toggle flight mode: while active you get continuous forward thrust with a subtle upward lift, fast travel speed for boosting, hovering and precise aerial control, plus flame and smoke exhaust at your feet and a looping crackling fire sound. The mod now constantly verifies you still have the Core in your inventory and will immediately cancel flight and clear your velocity the moment the item is no longer present, so losing or dropping the Core stops propulsion instantly.

Fire Propulsion Core
Quickstart
- Gather a Blaze Rod, two Fire Charges, a Redstone Block, and an Iron Ingot.
- Craft the Fire Propulsion Core at a Crafting Table:
- Hold the Core in your hand and right-click (use) to activate flight mode.
- Look in the direction you want to fly — the Core thrusts you that way continuously.
- Right-click again to toggle flight off and land safely.
Overview
The Fire Propulsion Core is a handheld rocket tool that gives you persistent, hands-free aerial propulsion. While active, it pushes you forward in whatever direction you are looking, counters gravity with a subtle upward lift, and fills the air around your feet with flame and smoke exhaust. A looping crackling fire sound plays the whole time you are airborne. The moment the Core leaves your inventory, propulsion cuts out instantly and your velocity is cleared.
What It Adds
| Item | Description |
|---|
| Fire Propulsion Core | A single handheld tool that toggles continuous rocket flight |
The Core appears in the Equipment tab of your inventory and cannot be stacked (max stack size: 1). It has durability, so it can eventually wear out over extended use.
How To Use
- Hold the Core in your hand (either hand works).
- Right-click / Use to toggle flight mode on.
- Look in any direction — up, forward, or at an angle — to control your trajectory. The thrust follows your view direction, so pitching your view upward climbs, and pitching downward descends.
- A constant slight upward lift is always applied to help you hover and counteract gravity even when looking straight ahead.
- Flame and smoke particles burst from your feet each tick while flying, giving a clear visual exhaust effect.
- Right-click / Use again to toggle flight mode off. Your velocity is cleared immediately so you stop moving abruptly.
- Dropping or losing the Core (thrown, traded away, consumed, etc.) cancels flight and clears velocity instantly — you cannot stay airborne without the item in your inventory.
Abilities And Mechanics
| Mechanic | Details |
|---|
| Thrust direction | Follows your current view direction (where you are looking) |
| Upward lift | A small constant lift is always added to fight gravity |
| Exhaust particles | Flame and smoke particles spawn at your feet every tick |
| Flight sound | A crackling fire sound loops at regular intervals while flying |
| Inventory check | Every tick the game verifies the Core is still in your inventory; flight stops the moment it is gone |
| Velocity clear on stop | Toggling off or losing the Core immediately zeroes your momentum |
| Durability | The Core has 512 durability and can wear down with use |
Progression And Strategy
- Gather Nether materials first. The recipe requires Blaze Rods and Fire Charges, so you will need to reach the Nether and defeat Blazes before crafting the Core.
- Look slightly upward for climbing. Because thrust follows your view, angling your gaze upward provides both horizontal speed and altitude gain simultaneously.
- Look straight ahead to cruise. The built-in lift keeps you from losing altitude even when looking level, making flat high-speed travel straightforward.
- Look slightly downward to descend. Aiming your view below the horizon lets you descend in a controlled glide rather than cutting thrust and falling.
- Keep the Core safe. Avoid situations where the item could be lost (death loot despawn, accidentally throwing it). Losing it mid-flight stops all propulsion immediately, so always have a plan for landing before you risk the item.
- Manage durability. With 512 durability, the Core lasts a long time but is not infinite. Consider having backup materials ready to craft a replacement for long expeditions.
