Feather Fall

Quickstart

1. Craft the Feather Fall charm using the recipe below.
2. Hold it in either your main hand or off hand.
3. Jump off a ledge — you'll fall slowly and safely as long as you're holding it.
4. Use the item (right-click / trigger the use action) to instantly swap it between your main hand and off hand.

Overview

Feather Fall is a small blue charm that protects you from fall damage while you carry it. It doesn't need to be equipped in any special slot — simply keeping it in your main hand or off hand is enough to activate its effect. It also has a built-in convenience trick: using it swaps whatever is in your main hand with whatever is in your off hand, making it easy to shuffle items between your hands without opening your inventory.

• Feather Fall — a unique charm item that grants Slow Falling while held and can swap your held items between hands.

How To Use

• Carry it to glide safely: As long as Feather Fall is in your main hand or off hand, you continuously receive the Slow Falling effect. This lets you drop from great heights without taking fall damage and gives you a gentle, feather-like descent.
• Drop it and the effect ends: If you stop holding the charm in either hand, Slow Falling wears off shortly after.
• Swap hands instantly: Use the item (the normal "use item" action) to swap its position with whatever is in your other hand. This is handy for quickly moving a tool, weapon, or block into your main hand without digging through your inventory.
• Stacking: Feather Fall does not stack — each copy takes up its own inventory slot.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Slow Falling while held: The charm continuously refreshes a short Slow Falling effect as long as it stays in your main hand or off hand. Take it out of both hands and the effect fades soon after.
• Hand swap on use: Using the charm swaps its slot with the item currently in your other hand — a quick way to alternate between two items during action.
• Uncommon rarity: Feather Fall is marked as an uncommon item, reflecting its usefulness as a survival and mobility tool.

Progression And Strategy

Keep Feather Fall in your off hand while exploring or building at height — it lets you safely descend cliffs, towers, and mineshafts without needing to place blocks or use water buckets to break your fall. Combine the hand-swap feature with your main tool or weapon so you can bring the charm out for a safe landing, then swap your weapon back into your main hand immediately.
